Great watch
This is the only watch I wear. It's also one of my favorite pieces of gear. I have worn this watch everyday for just over a year now and don't really have any complaints. It's comfortable. Great size, not too big. Functions well. I use the stopwatch and alarms daily. I've beat it up. Hiked, camped, climbed 14ers, snowboard, swim, shower, sleep, you name it. No damage. Functions like the day I bought it. Altimeter functions well. It regularly reads within 50ft of my GPS device out here in Colorado. Occasionally I've found it to read within 200ft, but never more and only when in certain terrain. I've never tested the temperature feature. On my wrist it obviously reads wrong. It is recommended to take the watch off and place it out in the open for 15 - 30 minutes. I've also never really tested out the barometer features. Great watch. Highly recommend.
Helps With "Gottalookatphoneitis"
A great watch for hiking. Helps me on the trail by providing a way to check the time without pulling out a smartphone. How retro ;) Compass is handy. Altimeter is useful only when one takes the time to set a known altitude. Barometer is cute and could prove handy--time will tell. Casio brings great game to the watch biz.
89.8°f and sunny on Jacob's wrist, WA
Mediocre watch. If it was sold for $100 I'd give a better review. But Not 300 bucks? I really thought it it would have Bluetooth capability to display my location's outdoor temperature....Nope. I don't need the temperature of my wrist. And the elevation? Way off way wrong way inconsistent. So Casio and REI.... Please thank your lucking 2 stars.
Better options for the money
I’ve owned quite a few watches by Casio and I’ve really wanted to love their watches but they just seem to be falling behind making it harder & harder and with the competition out now… I’ll be going with Garmin or Someone else. It’s sad this watch doesn’t have a sun up/down feature at this price point. The silicone band versions band isn’t durable. No upcoming possible storm alarm? Moisture got under the watch face and I baby this watch so that was a huge disappointment. Casio’s customer service is horrible on top of all of that. This watch looks nice but that’s about it in my opinion. I’d strongly suggest looking at any other reputable brand before buying this or any other Casio watch after my last few watches with them. Very disappointing. Especially because I love the way their watches look.
Great travel/adventure watch
Pros: Lightweight, solar, ABC, great double backlight, looks good on the wrist Neutral: A lot of features, seriously. The manual is a small bible. I read it front to back and remember maybe 30% of it. Cons: Crown is a screw down crown which takes away a lot of the convenience of using it. Also, the crown doesn’t feel very strong when pulled out. The swivel lugs are quite thin and plastic which could be a concern under very heavy use or hard drops.
To date, it is my all time favorite watch!
Great watch. Does everything it is supposed to. Once you study the manual adjustments become second nature.
Chip is programmed incorretly
Sending it back. Opened up the package, removed the watch and instruction manual. Tried to set the time to my time zone. I live in Arkansas which is CST, so moved the second hand to CHI. It read an hour ahead. Moved the second hand to DEN (MST) and the hour was correct, but the minute hand was sent to five minutes early. Don't understand why it isn't designed to set the time with the crown rather than relying on the chip setting. Maybe this one is defective.
