Only works in full shank boot
I used these crampons with Nepal EVO GTX boots to climb Mount Adams and they worked great. Lightweight and stayed solidly on the boot. Fast forward one month, I am climbing Mt. Rainier in Trango Cube GTX boots using this crampon. The heel portion kept sliding forward no matter how tightly I pulled the strap. After having to stop three times in an attempt to fix the crampon, I had to adjust the crampon two settings too small to keep it from falling off my boot. The plastic toe and heel keepers fit my boot, but the metal heel portion was a good two centimeters under my boot, the metal shank that is supposed to keep it from sliding forward, under my heel. When not using a full shank boot, the connecting bar bends.
summited multiple eastern sierra peaks in these
I bought these in late spring 2023 because of the high snowpack in the Sierra. They worked perfect for me all season. The toe spikes are great for steep terrain and they even worked temporarily on my running shoes. I will 100% buy another pair when mine are dead and gone.
Used twice and very happy
I used these to climb Mt Adams and a volcano in southeast Alaska, and they’ve been great. Once I wore them with Keens, and the second summit was with a tall Danner boot. Both worked great.
Broke on Matterhorn Pk
Rented a pair of these from a small rental company and they snapped down the middle on my climb up Matterhorn/Sawtooth Ridge. Thought I'd give that heads up here as it definitely deflated my trek. I'm sure they had a good run prior to my use, so 3 stars for 'em.
