Not worthy of the price tag.
Expected a longer lasting product from Pearl. After three uses fabric is showing significant wear and doesn't look like it will make it through an entire season. Feeling very let down with this one. Look elsewhere or just order knock off brands. Expected more from a brand name and a product sold by REI
Not as good as the original
This new design simply does not perform. The fabric feels flimsy. They do not hold shape while pedaling - Two pedal strokes and you have a flimsy wrinkled mess. My original Pearl Izumi Sun knees lasted for many years and held their shape while pedaling. i'm returning this new version and going with a different brand.
Good for sun protection
I like that the Sun Knees are fairly light material as fitting this close to your leg can make it hot, but these aren't overbearing. The fit seems pretty true to the sizing chart.
Block sun & Comfortable; fit well
These Sun Knees really block the sun on hot sunny days, but do not make my legs hot while riding my bike. Most recently I have worn them on a 2 and 1/2 month ride across the country and they have held up. After all this wear they still do not slip down. Size small works fine for me- 5'1"; 108 lbs. Comfortable too.
Good quality
Bit shorter than the original sun knees. Comfortable on long rides and keeps the sun off.
Good piece for long rides in the sun.
Overall, these work great at what they're meant to do - keeping the sun off your knees and calves. The upper leg part feels like it comes up a bit high on the thigh, but they may be more likely to slip down if they came up lower. I'm 176 lbs and the medium initially seemed too big, but they actually fit quite well and allow for free movement without getting bunched up. Word of advice - put your bike shorts on first and then the llegs Also, if you wear crew length socks these will completely cover your legs!
Protect your skin from UV Rays
Comfortable and yet protective of UV rays on long rides. I would recommend this to cyclists who are out exercising in the heat of the day for 30 minutes or longer.
Sun Knees
Knees suntan was getting to the point of sunburn, so the upf 50 sun knees were what was needed to keep the sun's rays at bay. Not using suntan lotion on the legs, and have long compression socks, which the sun knees bridge the gap between shorts and knee socks.
