Keeps kids dry and comfy in terrible conditions

Bought this for my 7 year old son before a camping trip to Acadia late June. Got rained on a ton, including while hiking down from Cadillac and out on a lobster boat, even just going to dinner in Bar Harbor. This jacket made the difference, what could have been hellish and miserable was instead tons of fun.

A perfect fall/spring jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket will be perfect for those late fall and early spring days, when its chilly but a coat is a little too much. It's nicely lined and supposedly waterproof, although I haven't had a chance to test that out yet. My son loves the lightness of the fabric and the colors. I should note that the orange is much more muted in the orange and grey jacket. It's much better looking in person that on the photo. After ordering one for this spring, I actually ordered another in a larger size because I was so impressed with the quality and price of the jacket. Great purchase!

Perfect for the great outdoors!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After I bought a waterproof Columbia jacket, my son was begging for one of his own, so I bought him this jacket for Christmas! It turned out to be one of his favorite gifts, and he’s only 8! It fits him perfectly, enough room to be active, but not too baggy. I love the thin layer of fleece inside because he runs warm so this jacket is fine for him on cold days (in the South). He begged to go outside when it was raining so he could try out the waterproof factor! I will definitely purchase again when he grows out of this one.

Great coat for my kids who hate coats

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought 2 of these coats for my kids, ages 6 and 9. They are notorious for grabbing a sweatshirt rather than a coat, so we were prepared to have to battle in the mornings on why it's not ok to just have a sweatshirt when it's under 45 degrees.... Luckily, this coat fits so well, is so soft and isn't bulky at all, so they didn't put up a fight. They didn't want to wear something too big and constricting, which is why they love their sweatshirts. But, they needed a layer of warmth that a sweatshirt can't give, plus they needed something water resistant. They love them, they are warm, they can still move around and we are not arguing each morning about what to wear. Because they loved these so much, we went and bought the snow jackets that are just like these. Great product!

Great all around rain/light coat. Our son is active and pretty rugged on his gear. We purchased the size S a few years ago and it lasted until he outgrew it. We sized up to the medium as he is now 54 inches and it fits well. Keeps him dry and kind of warm in the fall/early winter. I say Kind of because he is chilly when it first goes on as there is only a microfleece lining and no other insulation. Once he gets going it's perfect and he doesn't overheat. Good coat for an active boy for sure.

Multi-purpose Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket for my son. He dislikes wearing coats so this jacket is great for him. Its light weight but warm enough for him. I wished the fleece went down the sleeve as well but I don't see that as being an issue. We normally layer anyway. I did not give it 5 stars because we have not tested it in the rain yet. Although, I am confident it will work well. I also love that the arm length is just a tiny bit long. Kids grow so fast I hope to get at least a season and a half of wear.

Get it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased two of these at one. One for my daughter and one for my son. Both kids absolutely loved their jackets. They have enough room in them that they can easily where their bulky hoodies under them and still be comfortable. NC generally doesn't have brutal winters but it still gets really cold, and the wind chill bites. This jacket although light weight blocks out the cold. The kids were warm at the bus stop when they layered, it got down to 28 degrees.

Perfect weight for changing seasons

We needed something that was lightweight but warm for Fall-into-Winter and Winter-into-Spring. This works wonderfully. It's soft inside so you're not dealing with irritating mesh. And your kids can move in it unlike a lot of other shells out there. We layered it over a lightweight but not waterproof loft jacket for playing in the snow. I can see this being a regular purchase as the kids grow.

Fabulous Fit

I love this "shell" off a jacket. The fine details like the gathered fabrics around wrists and perfectly shaped hood around the face make it ideal. I love how light the jacket is yet how great it does holding the heat in. The thin layer of fleece is great since it doesn't add bulkiness to the jacket. As a parent, I appreciate that the jacket can be leaned easily.
