Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Nice raincoat,I love it!! 3 days ago I went to hiked with rain a raincoat helped me a lot
I experienced my first Bay Area (northern CA) rainstorm yesterday and this rain jacket was the perfect defense against a heavy downpour! It’s lightweight and definitely waterproof; the water just rolls right off! Even after being outside for a while, my clothes underneath were completely dry. It’s not the warmest jacket in really cold weather, but wear a base layer or light sweater underneath and it’s great :) I love the style, fit, zip up pockets, and velcro cuffs to adjust the fit of your sleeves at the wrist.
I am a fun of REI and have many items from the but this one was a big disappointment. First day I wore was a rainy day in the city, nothing heavy. Within 5 min, I started feeling wet inside. Since I bought it for a hiking trip, I decided to bring it regardless, only to prove that this is not rain proof. I sprayed a lot, real lot, of water resistant spray, and it worked OK. Within a few months, inner white lining started to fall off, making mass to my shirt and everywhere. By 6 month later, it was like the photos attached. I brought it to our beach house and left there.
I just put this jacket to the test hiking waterfalls in Portland. Between the constant rain, and waterfall spray, I kept completely dry! It’s only a shell so you need an under layers to keep warm. It was in the upper 40’sbso I generally wore a long sleeve shirt, and a very light weight down jacket underneath the Ranier. I’m not sure how these people who say it’s not waterproof are wearing it but they must hit have it fully zipped with hood on and zipped up to your neck. You just have to wear it correctly and I kept bone dry. I like that the sleeves have Velcro so you can tighten. Hood and waist tighten also. Hood fit perfectly over my down jacket hood. It’s the perfect jacket for hiking in a wet climate. It’s not noisy either. Fabric is nice. I got a Medium so I had room for layers.
I bought this jacket 2 years ago, so take this review with a grain of salt - the new model may have changed. I am really disappointed in this rain jacket. I live in California where it rarely rains, so I've worn this jacket perhaps 10 times total, but the inside lining of the jacket is already completely shredded. By my 3rd or 4th wear of this jacket, the lining began to break and drop little pieces of microplastics everywhere. At this point, I cannot wear the jacket, because my clothing underneath will be coated in a layer of little lining pieces. This is the least durable rain jacket I've ever owned. I'm really disappointed, and unfortunately, because it rains so little here, it was past the return period by the time I realized what was happening to this jacket. I wish I had never purchased this jacket.
This jacket was a last-minute purchase before a trip to Brazil, since my other rain jacket (Marmot Precip) was falling apart. I was in Chapada Diamantina National Park and got caught in a storm and ended up hiking for about 2 hours in steady rain. My shirt underneath was soaked and I had to finish the rest of the hike cold and shivering, despite the tag saying that it's "waterproof". If you want something to wear around the city during a light drizzle then this is the jacket for you. If you need a rain jacket to protect you from actual rain, I would look elsewhere.
I am SO disappointed in this raincoat. I bought it 2 years ago, and about 6 months in, it started to shed its lining, so now little bits of white and grey plastic end up stuck to my wrists and to my clothes. Worse than that, it seems to ABSORB water, rather than repel it. I was out in a heavy mist yesterday, and it was just soaked through like it was made of cotton. I wish I could get my money back-- I usually expect more from REI.
I bought this model REI rain jacket (plus REI) rain pants last spring because they are available in petite sizes. (I am 5’ 2”) and the price fit my budget. The jacket is well made with many of the same features as more expensive brands: pit zips, hook and closure at wrists, placket-covered zippers including the pockets, and a fastener to roll up the hood. The pocket linings create tall, skinny, open-top inside pockets perfect for stowing trail maps and park brochures. The full suit kept me dry hiking Pinnacles National Park in a steady rain, last spring. This past week, the soft neck lining made me smile as I headed to work in the first big rain of autumn.
The many features of this jacket make it a really good buy: I love that the entire jacket folds into the pocket. I found it too warm for the Mid-Atlantic summer but it should get a lot of use in September. The large jacket is wide enough for my hips (I wear a size 10 or 12 jeans) but still looks rather slim. The hood doesn't adjust quite enough (it still covered my face) so I added a piece of Velcro at the top of the adjustment tab (see the photo) and now it's fine.
Was looking online and finally went in store looking for a rain shell I could wear in Portland and surrounding area. Had done a lot of research online of various rain shells and had narrowed it down to the Patagonia Torrenshell and Marmot Precip. Upon arrival in store I found the aforementioned two jackets, a North Face and the REI Rainer. I wanted a lightweight jacket to wear over a puffer or fleece if I needed to that was packable and had pit vents. After trying all of them and feeling the weight, quality of the material, and ultimately fit, it was this jacket I picked. I wore it for 4 days straight in pouring rain and wind with no umbrella and I was kept completely dry and did not get clammy from getting too hot. I highly recommend this jacket. I have extremely wide shoulders and long arms and this was absolutely perfect. The adjustability of the hood was so valuable in the wind.
