The last rain shell you'll ever need

I previously had a MH 2-layer rain shell that unfortunately got lost. I still have the matching Dry Q trousers and I couldn't seem to find the same material in a jacket. While pondering whether the shift to the Gore-Tex Exposure 2 Pro was worth the cost, I came across the Stretch Ozonic, so I purchased it. It's very well made and has an appreciable stretch in every part of the jacket. It's also made of the same light, tough material as the waterproof pants (that's also quiet when moving). It's extremely light and can pack away to nothing. I'm 5'10" and 165 lbs and the Medium fits well through the sleeves and around the waist. Highly recommended!

Lightest rain jacket i've ever worn

I'm used to the heavier 2L rain shells with mesh liners. That's all I ever owned growing up. I love this jacket for how lightweight it is, and of course the stretch. It's extremely comfortable, and the inside doesn't feel as sticky or clammy as other 2.5L shells I've seen. The fabric itself is very soft, and has lots of stretch. It's not a very loud fabric either. I really think this is the perfect rain shell because if feels like you're hardly wearing anything, and yet you still get the complete waterproof protection. I haven't had any issues with water soaking through. Definitely recommend if you are looking to step up to a really nice rain jacket.

Surprisingly Great Jacket

So far, I like the color and the feel. I love the stretch this thing offers and the feel to skin is good. I haven't wore it in a treacherous down pour yet, still waiting:). I did wear it in a quick but small down pour for about 10 minutes and i didn't have any water seep through it. One of my favorite feature is the cinch cord on the back to close up the hood over my tiny but good looking melon. I'm surprised of how durable this thing is considering how thin it is. And the pit zips, they go on for ever, great job on that one. It's great to have the chest pocket with tons of room. It is definitely not a jacket to wear in cold weather as a stand alone, but it pairs great with the MH phantom puffer.

An unusual piece

It's not a hardshell or a softshell. It's a stretchy, light, waterproof jacket - in the same class as the Rab Kinetic Plus. I have both jackets and prefer the Ozonic for running, where the active fit shines. I give the function three stars because it is a limited-purpose piece. It is not designed to be as versatile as a hard shell or soft shell. You're probably not going to grab it when you head out in a downpour (but you could). You likely won't use it when conditions are cold. But, want to run in the rain, or climb in warmer weather? The ozonic is well suited to those activities.

surprised by the fit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had just received this jacket and went on a two week trip to Lake Of The Woods in northwestern Ontario. I was most surprised by the fit. I'm 6', 200 lbs with a 36" waist. The XL fit me nearly perfect. I only used it as a wind breaker in the boat. The fit around my hips was just right. When I would sit down,it was nice and snug and did not balloon out from the wind. I wanted this for a light weight, waterproof, easily pack able travel jacket. So far so good. If it's as waterproof as advertised, I believe that I will get a lot use out of it. I also liked the stretch material. I gave it a 4 out of 5 for the fit and function but I need to get it out in some tough weather to have a really accurate review

Great light weight rain jacket

I absolutely love my stretch ozonic jacket. I am 6 foot one 195 pounds. The large fit me perfectly with just enough room if I wanna layer under it I can. This year has been especially rainy in the smoky mountains. And on my last hike the weather did not disappoint neither did the jacket kept me extremely dry the entire hike home. I would absolutely recommend the jacket to anybody else looking for a lightweight put in the bottom of your bag rain jacket. This year has been especially rainy in the smoky mountains. And on my last hike the weather did not disappoint neither did the jacket. It kept me extremely dry the entire hike home. I would absolutely recommend the shake is anybody else looking for a lightweight trustworthy rain shell.

Truly impressed.

I spend 10-15 weeks a year in the mountains of Wyoming. I own several rain jackets, and this one is my favorite. I own slightly lighter weight ones, but this one is far the quietest and most comfortable. The arms are actually long enough for my 6'1" lean frame, which I love! I recently bought the newest model and the pit zips are way better and the storage pocket allows it to store more compact than the previous model. p.s. I do not work for this company. I'm just a dude that is pleased enough with this product that I felt it deserved a review:)

Awesomeness

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was eyeing this jacket for a while then I saw it was on sale so I jumped on it...I'm am soo glad I purchased it! It is seriously the most comfortable and well thought out rain jacket I've ever had! Worth every penny! I read a lot of reviews that said it fit small so I purchased a XXL so I could layer under it. I'm 6'4" 205lbs broad shoulders and I probably would have been fine with a XL. It seems to me this jacket is a true fit. If you're hesitant about dropping the money on this rain jacket...Don't be. You won't regret it!

Great rain jacket

I recently lost a different Mountain Hardwear Rain jacket and needed to find a replacement. I tried a few different name brand jackets without satisfaction. I found this model in a local store in a large size. I immediately noticed the nice soft feel of the fabric and how well it allowed me to move. The large was too big but the medium I ordered is a perfect fit (5’10”, 150 lbs). Nice features include the external chest pocket and pit zips. This will be great for outdoor summer activities when it is wet.

Totally Waterproof

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket to bring on a fly fishing trip to Alaska. I was a little concerned at first given how lightweight it is but I can say after five days of all-day fishing is a wide range of conditions it worked like a charm. I spent one full day in driving rain and high winds and stayed bone dry. The only reason I didn't give five stars across the board is with the extreme light weight of the fabric I have a feeling it could rip easily, although that's just a guess at this point.
