I think that there may have been a manufacturing defect on my shoes. I ordered a 9.5 and the shoes are incredibly small. They are listed as 9.5, but compared to a 9.5 running there is an obvious size difference. I'm new to climbing and I know that shoes tend to run small, but I didn't think that it would be this extreme. Also the box the product was sent in was extremely beat up and looked like it had be used and returned multiple times.

Good Beginner Climbing Shoes

A great pair of shoes for beginner climbers! I have climbed a few times in the past 4 years, but only recently have gone consistently in the past 4 months - thought it was time to get my own pair of shoes! I initially bought this pair in a women's size 6, but they were too tight for me. I wear normal shoes in size 6, but I believe most of the rental gear I wore were men's sizes, which is why I thought women's size 6 would work for me. However, I went ahead and tried women's 6.5, and it was still slightly more than uncomfortable, so I tried a 7. It felt much better, but I was so used to wearing socks with rental gear, that I didn't try without socks. I tried climbing without socks for the first time after receiving a new pair that I could call my own, and it was much more comfortable. It is slightly roomy on the niches of my heel, but nothing that is too loose. My boyfriend also has a pair of Black Diamond Momentum Climbing Shoes, and he loves them.

I love these shoes, they are cute, comfortable and a great intro shoe. However they run really small. I had to size up a full size in a half from my normal size, and when these are not carried in stores, it becomes a huge hassle.

Definitely order a size up!!! I wear 7.5 and got a size 7 cause I know climbing shoes should be tight, but I had to stretch mine with stretchers. Unbearably tight.

I bought these online in the same size I have been wearing in climbing shoes. They came in and my foot wouldn’t even go in. They were very well made and looked to be excellent shoes but only buy in store!
