This is how a bike should ride, it rides and shifts smooth, the handling is crisp and nimble and it's very stable. Its equipped with a nice component set that should last a long time it properly maintained.. Its very light and gets up to speed quickly. And after a few long rides and close to 80 miles on it, I'm impressed with quality of this bike . Glad i went with the Trail 2 .. I couldn't be happier with my choice of a new Cannondale.
Bought this bike yesterday and took it out this morning. This bike is very light and extremely fast. The quality is amazing and better than I expected. The REI bike staff was also very professional and easy to work with.
This is an awesome hardtail bike. Great for trail riding, but not ideal for rocky terrain or downhill. When I pushed mine to the max, I wish I had a full suspension bike that day (with 27.5 wheels). Of course, that's not what this bike is for. So, if you're looking for a nice mountain bike that will climb great and handle most downhill decently, this could be a great pick. One caveat: I added a droppable seatpost to mine ($350 with installation), which is not standard on the Trail 2. I was pleased that the wires could be fed through the frame instead of using tie-downs.
Legit hard tail that can handle rocky Texas trails and nasty downhills with the FS crowd for the most part. Comes set up fairly well. 1st thing I did was a quick upgrade to the tires and pedals to get rolling. The rear hub might not hold up too to the beating I will give it but at this price point this bike is where it’s at!
I'm an avid road biker, and this was my first intro into the mountain scene. REI was great and helping navigating through the options. Glad I made this purchase and it has been a fun bike, I have wrecked a few times, and the bike seems to hold up well.
