Please note, this sizing chart is meant to serve only as a guideline.
Sizing downhill poles: Stand in your ski boots on a level floor. With your poles upside down—grips touching the floor—grab the pole beneath the basket so that the top of your thumb touches the basket. Your elbow should now be at a 90-degree angle. If the angle is less than 90 degrees, get a shorter pole. If the angle is greater, get a longer pole.
Sizing XC poles: Stand in your XC ski boots on a level floor. Place the pole tips on the floor next to your feet. The top of the grips should reach your arm pits.
Sizing skate poles: Stand in your skate boots on a level floor. Place pole tips on the ground with the pole shafts perpendicular to the floor. The poles should reach from the ground up to a point somewhere between your chin and your lips.

Instead of fiddling with my strap for the first twenty yards after getting off the lift, i just snap right in. Great upgrade to trad poles. As someone with multiple shoulder dislocations, it's comforting to know that they'll just pop off rather then pop my shoulder out (in the worst case scenario). Very light, stiff, and easy to hold.
The idea of a pole fully attached for being able to push off when moving about the flats while still releasing when it hangs up in the brush descending that "slack country" run is a fantastic idea. The problem is the design. To manually release ("unclick" when loading on the lift and needing free hands) your gloved hand from the pole, it is designed to push down on the "button" (the head of the pole grip) and a small space opens for the loop on the strap to clear the mechanism. The problem is this gap opening is very variable. That is between each manufactured Leki grip or even affected different each day (ie. If it is snowing and tiny flecks of snow get in the mechanism). The system can be quite dangerous. As you slide up to the lift loading ramp, where you normally would free your hand from your pole (to safely grab the lift, etc.) you realize you cannot physically release and so do not have your hands free. You then struggle to get your entire hand free of the glove, get on the lift with your bare hands, and then either spend the entire lift ride with exposed hand(s) or spend the lift ride trying to free the stuck mechanism. Leki customer service says there is nothing that can be done for the problem. So Leki gets a 98% approval rating for "theory" (a releasable pole strap) but only a 20% rating for "execution" (making that theory work). Hopefully they or someone else will come up with a more refined system that works 100% of the time.
I had the Salomon Artic poles at first, but the color was way too loud for my liking and the straps were attached to the poles which I was iffy about. These poles have an awesome color scheme and the trigger straps are amazing. Easy to attach and disconnect for on and off the lift. It's comfortable to keep on your gloves, like you don't even remember they're there. Lightweight and perfect feel. Make sure you get the correct height!
Really enjoying these poles. Love the lock in system that Leki developed. Now I just need to get the gloves that have the loops built in!
