amazing
im very happy with my leatherman and rei store your guys are amazing
Outstanding product
Have you watched all of the reviews on YouTube , you know, the ones with all of the negative comments about the Signal? Me too, but I got one anyway. If you are going camping for a while maybe you should consider taking the appropriate equipment for your planned trip. If you find yourself in an unplanned predicament, you would be happy to have the Signal snapped to your belt loop. Prepare some tinder and wood, strike a fire and stay warm until someone finds you. Otherwise, bring your Silky, 3/8” x 5” ferro rod and your 5” blade, sharpened spine favorite knife. I don’t expect a tool to exceed the design parameters. I think this tool will do what it was designed for and do it well.
best multi tool there is to get
I don’t care what anyone say I’ve used this tool every day and pushed it to its limits surprisingly held up pretty good I’ve used it for things it’s not intended to either such as breaking a man hole out of its rust and prying it open, filleting fish, camping, starting fires etc etc and I’ve had this bad boy for about a year I picked one up in Colorado at my local rei only thing that broke was the needle nose pliers all I did was grind it down to a point again and it was up and running fine definitely recommend this rugged product it will do you good I lost my other one so im getting another one 10/10
Love the hammer, love the pliers, love the tool
I have to admit that it's difficult to choose "one" Leatherman tool--in my case, as I'm outdoors a lot, this one is the right fit for me. I totally love the hammer on the tool. And to be clear, I do not suggest you use this to frame a house... but if you need to drive a small nail or some tent stakes it's perfect. I also like having the sawblade as a backup tool--and remember, you aren't going to cut a giant woodpile with it, go get a proper saw for that; but for one or two cuts you need to make just save the trip and have this in your pocket. Very proud of this purchase.
Leatherman is the BEST!
Very handy tool for outdoor use as well as everyday use. I never leave home without my Signal.
More novelty than survival tool?
Having multiple survival aids in one small, multi-tool package - blade, saw, whistle, awl, and ferro rod - appealed to me. I use my tools before relying on them and I am glad I did. After use, I felt the features are usable with these considerations. The saw seemed a little flimsy but worked well. Using the hammer on tent pegs (expectedly) led to very minor injury. The featured sharpener and ferro rod/whistle are small and require attention and fine motor skills that may be suffering in a bad situation. The ferro rod requires special care to achieve success with its small size and small sparks. The ferro rod and saw did ignite commercial tinder and cotton balls but not the natural material I had at hand, and the small size made use interesting. The sharpener and ferro remove from the inside and the tool locks closed. The standard multi-tools worked fine. The Signal is light. I like the carabiner and socket driver/lanyard hole design. Overall, I like the appearance and concept, but would prefer a non-serrated blade option. As is, I think the Signal is a good tool for use in good conditions, skill learning, and skill testing. And it will work in a pinch. But, while I rely on Leatherman multi-tools, I would pick a different model and combine it with a bigger/better ferro rod and survival kit.
Very Nice with Hints of the MUT
Been carrying the MUT for a long time. It’s honestly a tank, heavy and I love it for its specific purposes. Carry the wave and charge at times too. This is another great tool, but most surprising is how light it is. I like having quick access to the bottle opener like the MUT and skeletools I use have. I didn’t like the original coloring if this tool when it came out. Nice to see this black and green. Feels good in hand. Probably will hold up as well as my other tools.
Feels so good in the hand
I'm a tactile guy. Love the feeling of tools, as I think that's a part of the product experience. This one feels great. The tools are awesome, although there are some improvements that could be made that almost made this a 4* rating. Like, it would make sense for the screw driver tool sets to be available while the multi-tool is closed for maximum leverage, but the tool won't fully close while the tools are extended. But, overall, everything I need around the house, at work, or in the woods.
Better than expected
Wow, what an amazing multi-tool! I've been using a low-end leatherman for a long time, lost it, so I finally decided to upgrade. Let me just say that I wasn't prepared for what a jump in quality I was about to get. This tool is NICE. First of all, the build quality is incredible and it looks absolutely fantastic. You hold it in your hand and it has a nice weight to it without being too heavy. It feels like a quality product in every way. Utility-wise, for someone who likes to hike and backpack, it's extremely practical. I was a little concerned that the knife sharpener and fire starter were going to be gimmicky add-ons, but I actually really do like them. I mean, they're small, because they HAVE to be small, but they seem solid - I would not hesitate to use them if need be. The hammer is pretty sweet too. They're very thoughtful touches that can honestly make a difference outdoors. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the product and would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend. The ONLY thing I would change would be to add the scissors attachment. It's not a deal-breaker by any means, but that would make it ascend to multi-tool nirvana for me.
all in one for the outdoorsman
Great survival all in one option. This has the right tools. Knife for everything, saw for wood and bone, awl for drilling holes, can opener, Whistle if you need to be heard, Ferro rod for a fire, and a hammer to drive tent stakes or smash whatever. awesome color scheme and the topographical print looks awesome. It is however green and if you drop it good luck finding it. I recommend a high-vis keychain or some Florescent spray paint.
