Wore out after about a week
I loved my old Injinji socks, so when I saw that they had these lightweight merino wool version, it was like a dream come true. They feel great and I really loved them, but I got two pairs and about 10 days later they look like they're years old. I don't think I've walked 20 miles on a pair yet. They feel great but there's something defective about either this weight of padding or batch judging by reviews I've been reading.
I LOVE them, but ....
These are the most comfortable, best fitting sock I ever had! They are wool (with all they pluses and minuses of that) which I really like. I want to really love these, but I can't. The material is so thin on the big toe and ball of the foot, they they tore holes in the big toe after 2 day hikes. For the record my toe nails are trimmed, smooth and not sharp at all. :-) I wish Injinji would see these reviews, and make a simple addition of thicker wool material on the big toes and insteps. I am planning to sew such a patch myself. If you buy these socks,be prepared to add a patch on the big toe or they will not last.
Wears out fast
The sock feels great but they need to be thicker at the tops of the toes. SmartWool socks are plush at the tops of the toes which helps prevent holes. After approximately 5 miles of walking, I ALREADY have a hole in my sock!! I keep my nails as short as possible and I’ve never had any pair of socks, regardless of price, wear out so quickly. If these socks lasted longer they’d be a 5 but with such poor quality, I can’t see these lasting a single weekend on the trails. I’ll be returning these and trying Montbell
I used to love these
Injinjis were great, past tense because their quality had gone down significantly. I started wearing them in 2014, and bought three pairs initially and loved them. They prevented me from getting blisters between my feet, were very comfortable and lasted years. This past year, it was time to get new socks! My old injinjis were still doing great after 6 years, but we’re thinning out, had some fuzzies and minor flaws. No big deal, it has been 6 years after all. I got three brand new pairs, and within 4 months, they all had holes! One way or another. At first I thought it was user error, maybe I got a dud, but they all thinned quickly and developed holes! For $13, I would hope my socks last at least a year. Needless to say, I’ve moved onto darn tough socks now. I love the five finger feature of injinjis, but I don’t think I can spend $13 for a pair of socks every 4 months.
Lame - toe holes after 3-4 runs
My first pair of Injinji, or any toe sock for that matter. Was looking forward to wearing them on 5-8 mile runs to help control blisters between toes. They definitely helped with blister prevention for the 3-4 runs I got in on them before I blew completely through the right big toe with the left big toe close behind.
I love Injinji socks, but NOT these!
Normally I have no complaints about injinji socks. I've been wearing them exclusively without issues since I started having nerve damage in my feet to deal with (about 5 years ago). I've never had a single issue... until this pair. Maybe it's the NuWool and the fact that they are the lightweight style, but after three wears, I had holes developing in the toes. It's not a toenail issue either as I keep mine nice and neat. I'll still buy injinji, but just not the lightweight nuwool ones.
Injinji
Came across those “5-finger” socks while trying to manage blisters. To my biggest surprise, the problem was solved! No more taping toes, no more healing breaks. Initially bought one pair just to try it, a week after added 4 more and never looked back. Even with the feet soaked no blisters developed. Home run. I have both coolmax and wool versions, wool feels nicer. Pulling them on is a royal pain, but the end result is totally worth it. People mention holes between the toes- I don’t have any after almost 4 months of heavy use.
Really good moisture and temperature management
These socks really manage moisture and the temperature in my shoes. They are really comfortable even after a long hot day. Unfortunately, like other reviewers have posted, they are not up to hard footwork. I mountain biked in these multiple times and have huge gaping holes in them now. Walking around the city on a hot and humid day, they are fantastic though and have lasted quite awhile. I really like the thinness and moisture wicking of these much more than the normal run 2.0 socks. Of course, the normal run 2.0 socks are WAAAAY more durable. Just use these to keep sweaty feet at bay and you'll be all set.
Poor durability. Do Not Buy!
I bought a few pairs of this socks at REI store. It was very comfortable. However, all 3 of my pairs lasted less than a month before it developed holes in the exact area underneath my little toes. All the reviews about it falling apart right away is true! I only wear these around the house and got about 5 days before holes developed. I believe the guy that left a review saying it got holes after just only. 1 day of hiking. Poor Quality Control by Ininji. I can’t believe they would release a trash product like this or not recall it. If you want your socks to last more than a few wears, then I would suggest you to buy Ininji non-wool products, or buy Darn Tough. They are built to last and have a lifetime guaranteed! REI should stop carrying their Ininji NuWool products.
Poor Quality & Low Durability
Poor quality. These socks have multiple holes in them in less than a year. The quality has really taken a dive with Injinji and I have been very disappointed with these.
