Chrome  Folsom 2.0 Bike Shorts - Men's

This is not a short to be used for serious cycling. These shorts bunch up and I got the worst saddle sores of my life using them just one time. If you are planning on riding in "The City" for a few blocks, down to your neighborhood bodega or whatever they'll suffice; but, otherwise not. Chrome really needs to do what Kuhl does and offer mid sizes (e.g. size 31, etc.) in order to provide their customers with a better fit. If you intend on buying shorts for comfortable cycling I recommend Zoic shorts instead of these Chrome shorts; they have flatter seams and don't bunch up nearly as much when you ride. These are a fashion statement; nothing more.

These are great looking, very comfy and clearly VERY well-made shorts. I mean, they appear pretty bomb-proof. I wear them for commuting, gravel/adventure riding, casual wear, and occasionally mountain biking. The only shortcoming is, at this price point, I think there should be at least one pocket that is secured somehow--zipper, velcro, anything. If just one of the rear pockets had a zipper for example, I'd feel safer with my wallet back there commuting. And, these rear pockets are a pickpocket's dream - the openings are quite loose. Great shorts but as I say, for this price there should be at least one secure pocket of some kind.

One of my favorite pair of shorts that I own. I love the tough material it is made out of. It seems more durable and touch, yet the slight stretch makes is also comfortable to wear. I like the fit and the inseam length, I do have an issue with the zipper getting stuck when fully zipped down. So I'm often tugging on trying to get the zipper closed. The improvement that I'd love to see is to change to a 5 pocket version. The reason being is that my phone tends to slide out way to easy when sitting in a car or a plane, Falling in to those cracks is a pain to retrieve.I tried the shorts with the shorter inseam, but 5 pocket stye, but the material is not that same as these shorts.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this short. I bought the Folsom Short 1.0 5 years ago and rode it to the ground. 10,000 miles later and it was still holding up but the short itself had flaws. I needed a new short and bought this one and was not disappointed one bit. All the minor flaws the 1.0 had have been addressed with the 2.0. It is one of the best shorts I have ever owned. I hope to see subtle changes just to buy another one. I am a fan of black but maybe the chrome logo can come in different colors. Keep up the great work on providing durable gear for professional commuters.

I bought 2 pairs plus 2 of the other, longer version. I bike outside year round in AM’s for a workout on a messenger, single speed bike. I go old skool - no fussing around with a fancy road bike. I had shorts I was happy with UNTIL I bought these - best shorts to bike in. Deep pockets for my phone, etc. Perfect length to knee or thigh in all the right spots while riding and they move and stretch in all the right ways. Most importantly they look awesome off the bike - you could totally rock these off the bike with some Vans, etc. The quality is ridiculously amazing - I feel like these could probably last forever. Chrome makes awesome stuff - I have 2 of their bags as well and other various accessories. They really know their customer!

I own quite a few pairs of Chrome shorts (dating back to the "knickers"), so I've weathered the changes in fit and material. I will say this: ALL LAST FOREVER. This is the reason I keep returning. I've got two sets of the old Folsoms (a 34 and a 36). I could barely get the old 34's on. Having learned that the 2.0 has a new fit, I went with the 34s this time and they are spot on. Kudos. My only concern is that the material feels thinner than previous versions but I'll take it that Chrome knows what they're doing as I reiterate: ALL LAST FOREVER.

I love Chrome shorts. The materials are tough, they look great, and move nicely when riding. Zippers, buttons, seams, all top notch, and make me want to wear these shorts on every ride. But there is one drawback that makes me a little nervous, and that's the pockets. The opening are huge, and go down low on the side, so it just feels like anything in my pockets will fall out while I'm riding. If pockets were just for a place to put my hands while standing around, they'd be perfect. They are easy and comfortable to slide your hands in and out of. But they are just so open I get really nervous about anything I have in them falling out. I wish the pockets were stitched like jean pockets that have shallow openings instead of gaping down the side of your hip. If they were like

Great pair of biking shorts. It was very hard to discern from the website copy -- if there is a chamois or padding inside these shorts. They are excellent, but any serious biking activity on anything but a retro cruiser requires a chamois. Why isn't there one here -- or at least an optional insert? Does no one but me think biking without a chamois is like biking without pants on? Easy enough to get a pair of liners and make these work, and then I give it thumbs up. But conditionally so.

I tried the Chrome Union and Folsom. The Folsom isthe correct short for me. Shorter in the leg and a better fit at the waist I am a size 30" waist. The Union was a little too tight and the Folsom is "perfect". They are a little loose, but that's good because I have room for a liner and boxers (pair of thieves) and do not feel any unwanted pressure on my belly. Quality build and materials, extremely comfortable, and handsome presentation to seal the deal. Cinco Estrellas!

My previous Chrome shorts were an XL and now Chrome has waist size. On their site a 36 is 38", so I measured my old pair of XL Chrome shorts and they were 38". Bought the 36 and they are a little tight around the waste, not terrible, but not only that, very tight around the thighs. I couldn't even wear my bibs with these shorts. The materials are still the same. Build quality looked good but dang, for a 36, leave room for the legs and bits.
