So warm, but not for winter precipitation

I bought these a month ago to replace my Keen Presidio, which I was wearing commuting (drive/bus/1 mile walk). These Kaci are amazing! Today was the first real opportunity to test their mettle - 30ish and sloppy, slushy wet snow. A+++ for warmth! These are so thin I wouldn’t believe if you told me they are insulated... but I wore regular ol’ acrylic Thorlos and they were sooooo toasty. F- for traction. Ice, slush, snow... no traction whatsoever. Slipping, sliding, like a comedy routine on ice. No, no, no. Don’t wear these if it’s snowy, icy or slushy. If it’s just plain freezing cold, though, throw on a pair of wool socks and these boots and you’re good to go. Fit: I’m a true 10.5 in Keen shoes, 11 in their hiking boots. I ordered these in 11 and they fit like shoes, but 10.5 wasn’t an option. Thick socks still leave plenty of room all around. That said, with regular cross lacing (I usually always re-lace my shoes for a wide toe box and heel lock) these are secure and comfortable. No rubbing, aching, weird hot spots, sliding or other “too big” issues. I’ll be putting Superfeet in these but the insoles as shipped are fine for my high arches and hard heel strike. We’ll see how those soles hold up long term (my Presidios are slick after 13 months), but for now I’m very happy with them as a dry weather winter boot.

I appreciate that Keen is attempting to offer a WIDE womens shoe/boot. It is the widest womens available they offer at the moment. I wish they would offer more. But the "non marking" shoe bottom offers NO traction whatsoever when there is the smallest amount of ice (black ice - on pavement).

Roomy and Comfortable

I absolutely loved my KEEN boots. I thought they looked a little strange with such a larger area for your toes but after wearing them and being very comfortable, I found they were perfect! I purchased these for cold weather hiking in Kanab, UT. My feet did not sweat and they were kept very warm. I did not feel like I had clod stompers on because they are very light weight. I was able to hike in them all day without my feet feeling exhausted. By the time I was finished my black KEENs were very dirty and well used. I definitely recommend these for price and comfort.

If I could give these 10 stars, I would.

Finally. A boot that fits comfortably. I have wide feet from years of running and some bunions too. NOT a problem with these boots. AND.. there's room for thick socks. I am soooo pleased with these boots. I've been wearing them everywhere and in all sorts of weather. It's only November 1st and they've yet to experience real cold Wisconsin temps and snowy weather. Hope they continue to amaze. I'm a size 7 shoe but purchased a 7.5 boot. They fit fine. I've added inserts for a little more comfort and even at that rate, there's plenty of room for big socks. Two thumbs and ten toes up!

Perfect for cold winter days!

LOVE this pair of Keens!!! I have the taller Keen winter boot and wanted something different for walking in winter. This boot fits perfectly, needs no breaking in and is true to size. I often think of trying other brands of boots, but in the end, I always purchase Keens. Great arch and I love the fact that it comes above your ankle. Super comfortable!

Kaci Boot

Bought these boots about 3 months ago. I love that they are fairly wide being I have wide feet. A little disappointed that they aren’t more comfortable. My other Keens feel wonderful on my feet. This pair seems to have a harder sole and definitely not as much padding. I’ll try an insole to see if that helps. I love the simple look though. So many boots are so busy looking.

Perfect for Iceland and Wisconsin weather.

I bought these for my trip to Iceland. No breakin needed. Enough room for my planterfaciatus insoles, wide feet, and thick wool socks. They were warm and lightweight for long walks. They truely are waterproof. We hopped rocks through a river and my shoes were emerged, and zero water reached my feet! I was hesitant to make the expensive purchase, but I am elated I did! I will get my money worth for many years wearing these in my Wisconsin home! The only thing I would change is the shoelaces. They don’t seem sturdy to me.

Keen delivers again!

This is my 7th pair of Keens! While many reviews described this boot as wide, my foot is on the thin side. I'm a size 8 medium, with a narrow heel, and these fit wonderfully with medium weight socks. Comfortable right out of the box. I like the wider toe box because I spread my toes from yoga and room around toes keeps my feet warmer in cold weather. I've been looking for a new pair of Keen casual winter boots since my foster husky chewed the entire top off of my favorite pair of Keen Crested Butte several years ago! Delighted to find this cute, warm, cozy & waterproof model with great traction to boot!

Most comfortable shoes period!

I don’t hike but was traveling north for an extended trip. Lots of standing and walking. These are THE most comfortable shoes ever, even compared to my tennis shoes!

Love this shoe

I love this shoe. It’s so so comfortable. And they look pretty cute. I’m new to Reno NV and bought for the cold wet weather but, so far, the weather’s been mild so they haven’t been tested for that yet. But I like them so much that I’d buy them again anyway even if they only work for warmer weather.
