Lightweight & Warm, shoulders an odd shape

I really like this jacket, the weight, quality, and colour are great, however, there is one downside. The arms attached to the body at the shoulder and the way the material is stitched means that the material at the start of the arms points in an upwards direction making it look like you have shoulder pads. It would be a much nicer look if this could be eliminated in future versions. Other jackets i have of a similar style have a single piece of material from the neckline down to the cuff meaning you don't get this issue. This aside I often wear this jacket and the above issue is outweighed by the other points.

bad use case

I wore this for a walk at 14 degree celsius and winds of 8 m/s, and it completely failed. I had fair temperature on my arms, but the important body areas, the kidneys, are completely exposed because of a breathable layer that goes down from below the arms on both sides. There it is cold, and the slightest wind goes through. This layer should only go halfway and leave the kidneys covered. However, the way it is constructed now, it is useless on its own. You will always need a windbreaker, or a west to keep your kineys protected. Another use case is to wear it at home.

Appropriate

I have used this jacket for a month and it covers my needs. But I miss a smal breastpocket like the one on my Lofoten Warm2.

Nice and warm jacket.

Nice jacket, but the strap hanger is too thin and short. Experience from another jacket from Norrøna. Already broken...

More than just a fleece jacket

Very comfortable fleece jacket that provides warmth and moisture transportation with attention to details. Great for wearing up to two layers both under and over it. There are several people at my workplace who use this jacket in the office. That's how comfortable and good- looking it is! The only reason I won't give it 5/5 is that after I bought it and started using it, I learned that Norrøna still use some questionable anti-odour chemicals in jackets like this one, that should have been substituted by eco-friendly alternatives by 2020.

Awesome all around fleece jacket

This jacket was a huge surprise for me. I love Norrona products because they fit me so much better (though I don't like the left hand zips). They fit taller and skinnier individuals while still fitting in the shoulders. It's more of a traditional light fleece with polar tech grid fleece in high sweat zones. I wear it around the house, around town, and, though I haven't put it to the test yet, in the back country. For it's weight, it's super warm. I wear it around town with a tee shirt under neath in upper 30s to mid 40s with no problem. I am actually beginning to sweat when the temps are in the 50s in this jacket.I think it's going to be an awesome mid-layer this winter in the snow and it has thus far been a great outerlayer for fall/spring weather.

Very comfortable.

Great midlayer. Stretchy, breathable side panels (fit my base layer and also my jacket side panels). Medium height collar. Not too tight not too loose. I can fit my base layer with collar with no restriction around the neck. Side pockets high enough for wearing a backpack hipbelt. Also pocket are mesh lined which will add ventilation. To my surprise there are also two inside drop pockets just behind side pockets. I can become my favourite midlayer when working hard. I am planning to buy another one in different color. I really like when Norrona logo/brand name etc are in contrast with the main fabric. Perfect fit for me. Slightly longer at the back. Sleeves length spot on. I only wish for a slightly stiffened collar at the back. I hope someone will find it helpful.

Great Polartec classic

A few years back I was looking for a true Polartec jacket; they are harder and harder to find. I bought a Norrona hoodie and never looked back. I wore it religiously, even after it got singed in a campfire. This year it was finally time to replace it and I decided on a Falketind Warm 1. I found again the features that I liked so much in the old one - the quality fabric, the really nifty, flattering tight cut, the cuff eyelets, the high collar. I don't particularly like what they did to the underarms - the fabric was replaced with more breathable sections. I get the breathability idea, but for such thin fabric it does not seem like a problem, really, but more of an economic choice. Because of this, it does not look like it's going to be as durable as the older, full Polartec version. Overall, a winner.

Great jacket but runs large

I bought this jacket a couple of months ago to replace a 2012 model. I love the previous version - the large fits me. The colour is nice but I miss the different colour zips! The new model is equally good quality and I am sure will last just as well as the previous one but the sizing has definitely changed. The new version is 2-3 inches longer than previous and is a little looser though the chest and waist. I think that the medium would be a better fit.

Great light weight breathable fleece

This fleece is the best one I have ever owned. It has full length zipper with zippered harness friendly hand pockets. It has inner stash pockets built into the inside of the hand warmer pockets, perfect for keeping your gloves warm next to your body while you break for lunch. It has thinner fabric in the arm pits and down the sides allowing it to breathe. I am 6 feet tall, 155 pounds and bought the size medium and it is perfect in every way.
