Great for commuters
Dave

I purchased these peddles for a touring bike that I use every day to commute to work. This is the first time I've used clipless peddles and I found them very easy to use and had no problems getting used to them. My pedals came with Shimano SH56 multi directional release SPD cleats which are easy to unclip. I clip into the cleat side of the pedal while riding and flip my right pedal to the platform side when approaching intersections where I need to stop. Both sides of the pedal work well when accelerating from a full stop and it's easy to flip from one side to the other. These work perfectly for my needs and I'm very satisfied with them.

Simply the best for new SPD user . . .

I am a new rider (at 68) who is now riding longer distances and an experienced biking friend told me once I got clipless pedals I would never go back. He was right, although these pedals give me the option of hopping on with regular shoes for a ride with my wife or just to make a short trip somewhere. I have never fallen as the SH-56 and loosest setting make it a snap to get out of the pedal (pun intended). Even when I first forgot I was in, they easily came out at the last second. Also, 95% of the time when I am starting from a stop where I am out of the pedal, the "right" side is up to re-insert. Don't even look down anymore. Love these pedals.

Love the 2 sides, Easy on/off. Highly Recommend!

I bought for my husband since I love my Shimano Pedals. I bought these because I like that they are two sided - one for bike shoes, and the other is flat if you don't want to clip in, or are wearing regular shoes. They click in effortlessly with no difficulty, are secure, but most importantly they easily and quickly detach when you turn your foot to the side. I am very risk adverse and was afraid of them locking in, being unable to remove my foot at a stop, and breaking my leg. I feel 100% safe with these and have never once felt worried. Cannot think of any downside or complaint. They are perfect and my husband and I both love them. Highly Recommend

Great for first-timers!

Got a new bike and was eager to try clipless pedals. I’ve used toe clips on my old mountain bike, but wanted to try clipping in on my new hybrid commuter. I chose these pedals because they are flat platforms on one side so I won’t have to always wear my cycling shoes. Clipping in was easy the first time out. (I just had to remember to release before stopping!) I think these pedals are a great option if you’re learning to get comfortable with clipping in, though. In the future, I’ll likely upgrade to hybrid pedals with a “grippier” platform side, but these pedals work for now.

Light weight and very responsive

I have tried several different pedals and these are my favorite. The metal version are heavier and not as easy to clip in and out of. This clickr model is by far the easiest to clip into and to clip out of. Slightly different design has made it much more efficient. I love I can also hop on my bike with regular shoes if I need too. I am buying another set to use on all of my bikes. I love the multi use, lightweight, comfort, and ease these pedals provide. I have much more confidence. In my opinion these are the only way to go if you are wanting to ride your bike with and without clips.

Easy to clip out of

I wanted pedals for touring that would be easy to clip out of. These are great. I have them on the loosest setting and the stay clipped in while I'm pedaling, but I don't have to plan ahead to clip out before stopping because they pop right out without any effort. Keep in mind that I'm not cycling very fast, but just pedaling along at an easy pace training for some multi-day tours on bicycle with some weight on it. I also bought the click'r shoes and like them a lot too.

Great dual pedal!

Love this dual pedal! Easy to install and setup right tension for easy click in and out! I would recommend for anyone wanting a pedal that gives you a little more pedal efficiency on the trail and needs to use the flat side at times while bikepacking or gravel riding!

Good for a newbie!

This is my first time using "click in/out" pedals. I have been using cages for a long time on my commuter bike. I have started to do more long distances rides and wanted to up my game, so to speak. I am using them with Shimano SH-XC1 shoes, Shimano SM-SH56 cleats. The pedals can use either SH56(came with the pedals) or SH51(I will be replacing the 56 with the 51, as I will do more "climbing" type biking). As a first time user(I watched a couple of Youtube videos on how to use click in's), I practiced a couple of times holding onto something, then up and down the block and then a 10 mile ride in LA traffic. I was really happy with how easy I was able to click in and out of the pedal when I need to. I did tighten the clips a little bit and still felt safe. The other reason I bought this pedal is that I can also use street shoes! Good price point for this pedal.

Perfect Hybrid accessory

Excellent pedals feel very natural. I use my mountain bike clip in shoes with them on my Canondale Quick 4 hybrid. They were even set up to a comfortable initial tension. Plus being able to jump on for quick ride without the cycling shoes is a bonus. The pedals have a slight tension to them so that if you rotate them to the clip side up, they don’t spin a way. This is a great asset.

Awesome!

I've always been leary of trying SPD pedals. These, with the multi directional cleats, have made learning, gaining experience and building confidence easy. Still being able to just run errands in my tennis shoes makes these pedals a double win! You'll be happy with your purchase. I paired mine with the Shimano women's MT-5 shoes.
