Rated 5 out of 5 by from Paddling with ease and Confidence In 2008 I picked one of these Tsunami kayaks after trying one out at a REI kayak demo exhibition. I was amazed in how easy to paddle and control it was over others I had tried. Now 9 years later it is still performing well for me down rivers like the Green River, in Utah and the Snake River in Wyoming. I have also used it a dozen times now for multi day Kayak trips, like to Shoshone Lake in Yellowstone. Even with long trips it carries my backcountry gear without any issues. Even when encountering strong wind and waves on Lewis Lake. It portages well when moving from different lakes or carrying short distances. I liked the Tsunami so much I purchased a 2nd one in 2016. This time I had it shippped to me as I am a Park Ranger in a National Park with no nearby REI stores. The kayak arrived without a hitch or problem. I use this extra Kayak for my Ranger led Kayak Tours and it performs well and balanced even with novice paddliers. I would not hesitate to recommend this kayak from novice to experienced paddlers to purchase. You never have enough kayaks and might consider buying 2!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does it get any better? I bought this Kayak over a year ago and have taken it on many river trips and lakes.. It's fast and tracks well! The rudder is also an added bonus!

I am an intermediate paddler looking at the WS Tsunami 140 and 145 kayaks. I am 5'6" tall, weight 180 lbs and am wide at the hips. Which of these two models would be best for my size? Also, what size spray skirt would I need for either of these kayaks?

Asked by: Sharon
Based on your height and weight, both kayaks will accommodate you. The Tsunami 140 is shorter and will be easier to turn. The 145 is a longer boat that will be faster once you are up to speed. The Seals 1.7 model spray skirts are compatible with both kayaks.

What is the recommended spray skirt for the Tsunami 145?

Asked by: Norfolk paddler
The Seals 1.7 series spray skirts are a good choice for the Tsunami 145 Kayak.
