Great map and permit case

It is as advertised. Perfect to take with you hiking, climbing, rafting, kayaking, and oh yes, cycling. Any activity where the chance of destroying your maps/permits/paperwork is likely. One glance at manufacturers website clearly shows all the various uses. Quality, thicker materials and a well thought out design. I purchased mine at the SLC, UT location and the people there were great. It took five of them nearly twenty minutes to hunt it down. Not in the maps area or near other waterproof containers for phones, cameras and the like; they keep it hidden behind messenger bags in the far corner in cycling. Good grief! This case is a great addition to anyone who really takes their out of doors activities to harsh and exposed limits...if you can find it.

Great for hiking as well

I bought this about 3 weeks ago, and I do not use it for cycling. I've taken this out on 3 hikes so far, and I must say that it has been great an addition to my pack. The Velcro is what makes this nice, no zip-lock style to deal with and find you didn't get it right. I use the slots on the side to attach my compass to the case. It fits my itinerary, map(s), ICE information, permits, etc. Works out great. While I haven't done so, I could stuff my phone in here as well. I'm giving it 5 stars because it has been great. My personal preference of being able to roll up the map and stash it though is not achievable, it's more of a fold and stuff it in because it is rigid on edges. Not a real complaint, but if you prefer to roll it and stash it neatly like me, it wont be as easy depending on the pack you use. It feels durable, the real test will be when I'm caught in the rain; so far it's been a sweat catcher. Highly recommend this for those who don't like the zip-lock style of map cases, and those wanting something a little thicker and durable.

GLARE!!!

This map case has excellent attachment points and clips, but the shiny surface is blinding when the Sun reflects off it. The glare was so bad that I returned the case feeling disappointed. Perhaps others won't be bothered by this, but I was. Some kayaking map cases offer a glare-free option.
