I have to confirm with other reviewers that the toe box is very small. I have been wearing Siren Sport 2s for years and never required any break in period with my previous two shoes. I loved them because you put them on and they felt great from day one. This morning I tried on one shoe and immediately knew something was different with this design. I even looked at the other shoe to make sure I received the right size. I compared them to past Siren Sport 2s and the sole is more narrow…especially near the toes. I will be returning and wish Merrell had not changed a good thing.
Have used these for about 2.5 weeks now and I dont love them, I wish I did. They have a weird up swing in the toe box, like other hikers do but this just seems extreme. I find that by the middle of the day, my smaller toes are hurting almost as if they are being pushed into the sole because of the high upswing. Hard to describe because they are definitely not too small. They also tend to slide down my heel which is not great either. I wish I had returned them when I first tried them on but I needed a pair badly so I just stuck with them.
I just read the other review on these and want to second her motion. They are very tight in the toes. The break in period hurt very bad and I ended up getting a different hiking shoe. I have great experiences with other Merrell shoes, but this pair was very different fitting than the others.
I bought these hiking shoes couple of weeks ago, having just taken up professional dog walking. I needed something comfortable, lightweight, supportive and waterproof. These fit the bill. I walk on trails as well as city streets and they are working out great so far. A perfect day hiking shoe as well.
I was looking for a pair of low profile hiking shoes. I found these on the clearance rack and tried them on and they fit like a glove. I wore them on several hikes in California before my trip home to Colorado. I found the tread extremely helpful on a very steep decline. I love them.
I bought these shoes for lightweight yet sturdy option for hiking in France and Iceland this fall. Broke them in this weekend with no problems. Toe box wide enough for downhill slopes, comfort through sand and rock. I'm delighted.
I was happy to find that these hiking shoes were, as described, grippy on the bottom and light to wear. Breaking them in took no effort.
This summer we hope to make a short hike up a somewhat steep mountain. Having on the Merrell Women's Siren Sport 2 Hiking Shoes will make the climb so much more feasible and enjoyable. Thank you.
I bought these several years ago. I invoked a warranty because the top of the shoe pulled apart (where the toe part flexes). I got the exact same shoe, just a newer year... and the same thing happened. As a result, I can't justify buying another pair of merrell's.
