Sizing Notes
This size chart is meant to be a guide only, as Danner styles are built from various lasts that fit each foot differently. Generally, most people size down a half to a full size when buying Danner boots as compared to their shoe size from other major footwear brands.

Tough
I am a stone mason and Landscaper. I go through at least 1 if not 2 pairs of boots per year. These are on 7 months and still holding up. That is good for me as I am in them 10 hours a day 7 days a week. Since boots are a tool for me I spare no expense. The only part I am having trouble with after this time frame is the weight of the the boot. its a little heavier than I like as I am a very mobile worker. Also the toe is good and that is a common problem as I kick everything when I work.
Great fit and feel, but fragile
Bought these for last year's trail work season- hiking, heavy work in dirt, mud and rocks. Overall they've been light, comfortable, well-fitting, and kept my feet dry. The only problem was durability. Admittedly I gave them some pretty abusive treatment, so I expected they'd get beat up and not be family heirlooms. But stitched seams and glued panels started coming loose within 2 months. I had to hold them together with shoe goo to keep working. All in all, these are great for light duty work, but don't expect them to hold up to regular heavy labor for years or even months on end.
Great Work Boot
This is a great pair of work boots. All day standing, walking, climbing ladders, they are very comfortable and very supportive. They need no break-in unlike most work boots. Even in the heat and humidity of late July and having Gortex liners, these boots do not make my feet overheat more than standard all leather work boots. These would likely be very good for hiking as well, but I have a pair of Vasque's for my hiking. I needed a leather work boot with a 90 degree heel, and these are perfect! I wear a 8.5 wide, and these fit perfect. They are soft toe boots as well. My work does not require steel toes, so there are much more comfortable than boots with protective toes. I can get a 20% discount from Red Wing for my work, but I would rather have the REI return policy. REI should carry more work boots, and I would buy from them every time.
Boots are very comfortable and
Boots are very comfortable and fit great, have 2 small issues, shoe laces are broken only after 1 month of wearing them and the rubber sole is peeling off the back of one boot a bit, besides that good so far
The two boots we build
The two boots we build differently. Had no choice and had to keep them because i had no other work boots.
Excellent!
I picked up these "work" boots I ordered last week from the Tustin, CA store this afternoon. I'm always anxious when buying online because I'm hoping they'll fit well right out of the box. I typically wear 10.5 Ds and that exactly what I ordered. To my extreme delight they fit perfectly! They're extremely well constructed an very comfortable. The insoles feel well padded. And maybe one of the highlights of these boots is they're very easy to put on and lace up. No prying your feet into them and there's no need to chinch the laces down tight. They just fit. These are 5 Star boots at a very reasonable price.
This shoe does not have a composite toe
I have owned 5 pairs of these shoes that have composite toes which I really like. These are advertised wrong. The shoes with composite toes have it stamped on the top of the toe. The box that the composite shoe comes in is a different model number and has composite toe on the box.
Great for Rough Terrain
I often use trail running shoes in my surveying work, but I was running a traverse in steep rocky terrain and needed a rugged work boot. Since going to a REI store was not in the cards, I took the chance of ordering footwear online selecting my usual shoe size of 11 1/2. I wore the Danner's right out of the box and the fit was fine. After several weeks of hard use, I am completely satisfied with the purchase. Not only do they serve me well in the field, I can step right into the boots and lace them easily and securely.
I work in golf..
I work in golf.. In the shop as equipment manager. I need something comfortable on a concrete floor as well as going out in the morning, with a lot of dew on the ground when I check the equipment. My wife bought me these a few years ago. Till then I was going through a pair of boots a year. These have been going strong, still comfy and holding up to the dew. The soles on my pair were finally getting a bit thin and I just retired. These were on sale and I thought if I got them, they’d be the last pair I’d ever buy.. I would recommend these to a friend. They’re the same size as my trail shoes.
Warm boots and good construction but poor leather
I bought these for my job where I am a maintenance man on a college campus in Minnesota. I frequently operate snow removal equipment and do various outdoor tasks and go indoors as well. Wanted something that was breathable but provided a safety toe and was insulated. This fit the bill but I am very disappointed at how soft and crumbly the leather on these boots is. I have a ton of tears and abrasions on it despite the claims of ruggedness and durability that were made in the description. These are truly just for trail walking in my opinion and should not be in the work boot section. I would go with the Quarrys next time cause I'm assuming the USA made boots would be better quality materials.
