Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE: If your body measurements are midway between two sizes, select the smaller size for a tighter fit or the larger size for a looser fit. If your body measurements result in different sizes, we recommend using your chest measurement for tops and your hip measurement for pants.

I have these leggings in the black strip version. They are super cute just as leggings and warm too! I do think they are a little more itchy than other pairs of Merino wool leggings that I have had, but I have yet to throw them in the wash. I have worn them several days and again, no stink as another reviewer mentioned. There was another review saying that they fit slightly low-rise and I would have to agree. The waist band does slide down a little when bending over or kneeling. I purchased a medium and maybe would have been better with a large, but the only size they had in store was the medium and they were just so cute I had to have them!
I am 5'6" 130 lbs and got a medium. Length is fine (could be a bit longer but ok as is) and the fit is comfortable, but not snug. The material is slightly itchy but not as noticeable as the matching top. The only long bottoms I can sleep in with comfort without legs bunching up to my knees and without getting hot and sweaty.
I have black Icebreaker lightweight leggings and ordered these in the same size as others I own when I saw they went on sale. I found they were less stretchy, smaller over all, and shorter in the rise with less coverage in the rear. Perhaps that is the reason they are on sale. I wore them around the house a little, and I think they may stretch out a little, but not in an elastic sort of way. There is no give to the fabric this time. I prefer the Icebreaker brand for my base layers because the bottoms are higher in the rise and give more coverage in the rear. When I reviewed the size chart, I saw I'm between a medium and a large. previous mediums have fit, but with these I think a large would have been better. Maybe order up a size.
These long underwear leggings kept me dry and warm during my recent 3-day backpacking trip in the Canadian Rockies. The second day of my backpacking trip, the high for the day was 0 C (32 F) and the trail was covered in up to 2.5 feet of snow. Unprepared for the level of snow, I trekked through the snow with these leggings, long water-resistant hiking pants (light enough to wear in summer), the matching long underwear top, a moisture-wicking t-shirt, and knee-high gaiters. Despite having gaiters and water-resistant pants, my lower body got soaked throughout the day. However, the long underwear kept me warm throughout the day and dried relatively quickly. My legs NEVER felt cold. I was extremely surprised by the warmth and drying time, and I highly recommend it to anyone planning for winter activities. Note: The leggings were a little itchy when I first tried them on at home. However, when I put them on for my hike, they felt soft and comfortable. Not sure what happened (maybe I was preoccupied with my hike), but I love them!
I wore these leggings trekking in 20-30 degree weather and they kept me warm. The leggings felt soft. I would buy another pair.
