Good boat shirt

The sun is super intense in the Caribbean for fair skinned folks like myself so I needed something to cover up. Even reapplying sunscreen all day doesn't guarantee avoiding a bad sunburn especially when you are jumping from the boat to the water every hour or so. So, I was looking for something simple that dries fast and has a decent UPF rating. The reason I picked this shirt was that it wasn't full of bells and whistles (and folds and vents and pockets...). It looks good, dries fast and doesn't get in the way. The arms a little long but covered the backs of my hands...again the sun. It worked, it fit well and I had a lot of mobility.

Great hot weather shirt.

The fabric is amazing on my skin. The snaps feel cheap but are actually really good. Fit is rather loose, but that is good as air passes through fast if raining. You don't feel hot in direct sun with most long sleeves. This is a great shirt for trekking, flying little airplanes with no AC, and looking stylish. The issues- keep away from cats, front pocket is a joke, color likes to travel up with jacket. The long sleeve is sized different from the shirt sleeve. I wear a size smaller in the long sleeve for some reason. Be sure to use a smooth surface concealed handgun with this as fabric is a little delicate. These issues are negligible when compared to other long sleeves.

Bad idea to add the zipper

I have the older version and was hoping to buy it in a different color. I dislike the zipper in this new version so much that I will not buy it. It ruined the shirt. Please bring back the old design. Furthermore, please add a few more colors (maybe something in the burgundy range?). And please consider removing the logo from the back because like the shirt a lot and I wear it in casual every day situations. The shirt looks so good (the old version, not the current one with the zipper) that you don't need a logo. People will ask for the brand. Minor comment for the old version, for me, size S, the sleeves were a bit long. Looking forward to you going back to the old version.

Almost Perfect....

These shirts are nearly perfect. A few details would bring these puppies to 5 stars. 1. Can we get gun metal / black color snaps? The silver feels really generic. On the darker colors the silver snaps are a bit off putting. With the "24" rivet in black, perhaps a DTM finish on the snaps would bring it full circle. 2. When using laundry pods the polyester picks up on the soap / residue left behind if it's not 100% liquid. This is a bummer and results in a double wash or having to hand wash those areas. 3. Can we get a Nylon blend version? While the shirt is light weight, the Polyester gets funky and warm in hotter climates. 4. Flawless fit - Never change it!!!!

Best Shirt for Every Occasion

I bought this shirt about a year ago and have worn it everywhere. It was my favorite work shirt for its clean, good looks and its athletic cut. It resists odors and wrinkling like a champ which has made it a go to for traveling. Currently using it as a sun shirt while backpacking through Southeast Asia and I have been very happy with how good it looks and smells after wearing it for days on end. Only issue I have is that it's a bit warm. In hot, humid weather it can get a bit sticky.

Nicer fit than previous version

I'm new to the Skyline shirt and ordered both the new one, and the previous revision in black. The new revision was for me a slightly tighter, better fit. While the zipper on the pocket looks a bit out of place, I think it's better than the cheesy 'polygon' look of the previous revision. I won't use the pocket anyway, so for me it would be fine as is, but as an open pocket without the zipper. The new plastic buttons feel lighter, and a whole lot safer to use, with no fear of tearing anything. You can easily undo the buttons by just pulling the shirt open (It's oddly satisfying!). It's also great that the buttons are now black, so if they show, they don't visually stand out.

Pills and smells. Avoid

I love just about anything Arcteryx. This shirt is comfortable, reasonably stylish if you want to wear it around town, and it fits well. The main problem with it is is started to pill after just a few washes, and keeps getting worse. I always follow care instructions precisely, even using the type of detergent they recommend, but I was very disappointed to see that after just a few weeks it looked years old. Also, for whatever reason, this shirt causes or retains body odor like nothing I've ever owned. I sweat very little, and can often skip applying deodorant/anti-perspirant. If it's at all warm, my pits are always soaked with this shirt, even after applying lots of anti-perspirant.

My Go-To Hiking & Travel Shirt

I have two of these shirts in my wardrobe (green & black) and wear them regularly. During weekend camping/hiking excursions I'll roll up the sleeves and put some miles in, while staying cooler in the direct sun, and warm when the temperature starts to drop. I an easily fit a merino wool base layer underneath, when necessary. I also like to wear these shirts when traveling, as they can be dressed up and down depending on the event. All while just being comfortable. I make these analogous to my Prana Brion pants - just versatile! Fit is slim. I'm 5'10, 150 lbs, and wear a small.

Probably the best shirt I've ever owned, until they changed the design

I bought this shirt before spending 2 years backpacking through Asia and out of all the top quality gear I bought before hand, this shirt has lasted the longest and consistently looked the best for the last 4 years. Whether climbing a mountain, spending 8 hours on a bus, or going out to the club for the night, this shirt keep me comfortable and looking good. And the compliments, every time I put the shirt on I got compliments. I just started searching for a few more as I will be traveling again, and I am VERY disappointing that the pocket is now a zipper. This cuts the use case for this shirt in half. Now the style moved from flexible to technical, which is not what I'm looking for. PLEASE bring back the old design. In this fast fashion, high turnover market it may seem like you need to change things all the time, but occasionally, even rarely, a product is created that goes beyond all previous conception of what it could be. In these rare moment, don't screw with something that works, especially when you have other products that fit the exact same purpose.

First, but not last, shirt purchase

Like most things I buy online, I read reviews that the shirt fits large and people suggest ordering a size smaller. I did just that, and I'm super grateful for people's feedback. The shirt fits perfect, but is designed to be worn by a lean individual. The material is incredibly light weight, and style is simple yet professional. It seems fragile when unbuttoning the shirt and I'm afraid I'm eventually going to rip one of the buttons off. It doesn't attract pet hair, and doesn't wrinkle easy. I love this shirt. Arc'teryx, please provide more colors for this shirt!
