A rarity: Me-proof
I've had this little guy for about a year and haven't had any issues with the cap (close it properly and it'll be sealed y'all). It has been in the backcountry with me countless times without any issues. Last night it showed it's true grit after being sliding out of my back pocket and careening down a 50 ft rappel onto rockfall. I thought I would be pouring some whiskey out of the holes in it for the fallen, but alas! Unnecessary! It is dented in a corner, but only slightly. I have not found a flask that can handle my follies until now. Do yourself a favor and pick one up, they are thoughtfully designed and can take a whooping.
A nice cute flask with some issues
Doesn't stand up very well on its own. The threads on the cap are plastic while the threads on the flask spout are metal, so if you misthread it, you will likely need a new cap. I hope they are available! That being said, it got the job done on a backpacking trip.
Nice look, but I smelled the whisky too soon
Overall of nice quality and fine looking, however the first time out it leaked. After looking very carefully at it, it is evident that the seal is not making contact with the top rim. The plastic that retains the rubber tether for the cap makes contact with the metal rim on the top of the flask before the seal makes contact. No matter how tight you get it, it leaks. TL;DR: Brand new flask leaked, now my brand new jacket smells like Jack Daniels. 0/10, would not buy again.
Flawed design and construction
The internal weld seam on this flask had visible slag if one shone a flashlight through the opening. Several washings could not get a strong metallic/industrial odor out of the flask. The rubber strap holding the cap on is loosely fitted, long, and limp to the point that it twists itself into a tangle while screwing and unscrewing the cap. The threading on the cap is plastic and steel on the body, which is probably not long-term durable. No knurling on cap could make it hard to open in a lot of circumstances.
Not leak proof
Loved the simplicity and was extra easy to carry on trips, often fitting in a pocket. However started leaking after only a handful of uses.
Just okay
This flask seals nice and holds the appropriate amount of liquor, but needs to be rinsed very thoroughly. Bought this at last minute because I forgot to bring one of my others. Before use, I filled it with extremely hot water (near boiling) shook and poured two times. I filled it with one of my go to beverages about an hour before the hike. An hour in I took a swig and really didn't enjoy the taste. It was not a minerally metallic taste, but chemically tasting. I haven't used it since I'm hoping the first fill with alcohol cleaned it out. I would have rather had any one of the 3, $7 Walmart specials sitting in my cabinet (they tasted clean on first use with the same exact rinse method described above). There is no reason for this bottle to cost $25 before tax, and other well built more affordable flasks perform just as well. Well made flask, but it just isn't worth $25.
Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots, Sh-Shots, Shots.
Most good looking flasks today are over the 50$ mark and anything affordable is tacky and poorly constructed. This flask here bridges the gap between good looking and affordable, not to mention functional. This flask is the only i've owned that holds enough for a day on the slopes, and a night out. I would recommend this to anyone that likes quality products at a fair price... also heavy drinkers.
Great design-Horrible taste
This is a sturdy and functional flask. However, you will want to clean it vigorously. How vigorously? I washed it with hot soapy water, twice. I filled it with my favorite clear beverage, and when I took my first sip, it tasted like tire-flavored vodka. I’m not saying you should avoid it altogether, I’m just saying wash it several times and test with water before wasting several ounces of the good stuff.
Ski flask
Great little flask. Keeps my whiskey safe when I ski. One time the lid wasn't screwed on tight enough and everything spilled into my pocket but other than that I haven't had any problems with it leaking.
Quality looks, poor function
Leaks. Seems like the seal in the cap must not contact the rim of the spout. No matter how tight you tighten, it still leaks. Have not cross threaded the cap, just bad design. Only (sort of) used this once, spent my day trying to make sure it was sitting upright in my jacket pocket.
