Backwoods camping in Yellowstone National Park we notice a couple of irritating issues: First, in a light wind the plastic clips connecting the fly to the poles squeak as the tent and poles flex. Second I am concerned about the strength of the tent fabric - it is very light (one of the tents selling points) - and the tent carrying sack actually split on our way home. In 50 years of camping I've never had a stuff sack split unless it was very worn; this was after one week of camping. Other than these issues the tent was roomy for three people and their packs, kept things dry in a high wind and rain storm and was pleasantly light to carry
It can be set up easily and in minutes - I am small and disabled, yet can do it by myself. Very flexible - fly comes off/on easily, zippers are easy, vents keep heavy rain out even when open. Best: It is DRY even in big rainstorms (get the footprint for it). Been thru 3 storms with 2" of rain + gusts 40 mph. It says down and dry. Fly traps body heat and keeps you warm. Had this tent 5 years - basically looks like new. It is durable.
I am 6'2" and I like to have plenty of space when I backpack. I am using this tent as a two person tnt and I am very happy that I got this instead of a 2 or 3 person tent. Its about 2lbs more weight but gives me so much more space. Its made very well, has many pockets and is very easy to assemble.
Agree with other reviewer. This is an excellent backpacking tent. Super easy to setup, seems well made, actually fits are family of 5 (3 younger kids). We've done a few backpacking and canoeing trips with it.
