Regardless of what is printed on the package of the bottle you receive, LifeStraw performed extensive testing and found the filters have a 4,000L (or 1,000 gal.) lifespan. If you receive a bottle with the older packaging that displays a shorter lifespan, LifeStraw wants to assure you the filter can be used for up to 4,000L before it must be replaced.
