Slimmer fit with elastic band around the backside of the waist. Fits slim 6'3" man wonderfully. Only convertible 36" inseam I could find!!

Change for the worse
No, I do not recommend this product
The old Sahara pants were better. They removed the elastic waistband and changed the fit from comfortable to hipster tight-pants. Great if your going out on the town, but horrible for outdoor activity. They also did away with the zip-off feature that allowed wearer to switch between shorts and pants without removing shoes. Why?? I have been wearing REI’s Sahara pants almost exclusively for close to 10 years. I am so disappointed and perplexed at the change! REI, if you want to update the style, do it without changing the fit.

Good hiking pants.
Yes , I recommend this product
I bought 3 pairs of these pants and loved them for the most part. Be aware that this material will tear easily if snagged. Also, beware of fire embers landing on the material. Embers will easily and quickly burn through this material. I like the lightweight material for hiking and the option of being able to convert these into shorts.

These are excellent, and fit very well. I'm 6'5" 195 lbs, and finding convertible pants that fit was very difficult. These are high-quality too. Ordering more.

Bad Snap Button
No, I do not recommend this product
Snap button on the waist comes undone frequently. I would recommend searching for a hiking pant that doesn't utilize snap if possible. Otherwise, the pants are fine.

Please bring these pants back. They are perfect for a tall, thin body. The only thing better would be a 30"W x 38" inseam.
