Low rise waist is no good

These pants are exactly what I'm look for to replace a five year old pair of snowboarding pants. I want something comfortable for snow play with my young boys but still athletic for getting on the slopes. I ordered in XS short which should be great for my 5'0" and 120 lbs frame. Unfortunately, I found that it was nearly impossible to get the pants over my hips (M size underwear). The zipper in front is very shallow and therefore limits the opening on the pants. I really wanted to keep these but a low-rise waist is no good. I cannot imagine wearing low waist pants when I want to tuck my clothing in to keep warm. Raise the waist and these will be great.

Great pants but I'm still to tall!

I love North Face quality and that they offer a long inseam however my struggle is I seem to be in between sizes. I'm 6', 143 lbs, slim athletic build. The small is too small overall (waist & length) and the medium is too big - too wide in the waist & hip and I could still do with more length so the pants bunch up a bit on my boots rather than just sit on top (which means snow still gets in when it's deep). I'd love to see "cooler" (subjective) styling from them too - better front hand pockets, rear butt pockets and or maybe a cargo pocket. I will always keep checking to see if they do this and get a true long inseam happening.

Great pant!

I am always freezing when I am in the cooler weather, so I decided that this year I was going to get insulated pants. Although I didn't get to test them out with snow, I am sure they would work perfectly. I am 4'11" and about 120 lbs and petite. I went with the sizing and originally ordered a medium. When I got them they fit, although the ended up on the larger side and were really baggy in my butt. I wanted more of a form fitting (no base layers) so I opted to return them and exchange for a small in size. Great choice as they fit me perfectly with comfort to still move around and look girly. I love these pants and I will use them for years to come I am sure.

Disappointed

I purchased these pants and wore them for 1 day of skiing. The material does not seem durable because I used them for 1 day of skiing and had a tear in the portion of the leg by the end of the day. Disappointed in the product.

Perfect for the slopes!

I recently purchased these pants for a snowboarding trip with my husband. I was nervous because I have always used a competitors brand. But this was the first year that I didn't have snow down my butt and my legs felt completely comfortable and warm for 100% of my day!! The adjustable waist was extremely helpful, and this particular fit really accommodated my pear shape. I have yet to find a snow pant that fit me well in the waist AND in the leg! They did not skip or fall down my back side, not even when I was sitting on the ground strapping in. The pink color really popped! And the zipped pockets helped keep my Chapstick and license safe. I'd definitely recommend these and I would even repurchase in other colors!

Bought to replace a very old pair and so happy!

I had a pair of Freedom that I bought many years ago that were finally starting to wear out and of course I immediately looked for Freedom again and was pleased to find them still being made. They are essentially the same pants with a few nice updates that I really appreciate. Thigh vents moved to inner thigh so less chance of snow getting in during a tumble Cargo pocket constructed to prevent things from falling out of the flap lifts elastic in the adjustable waist tabs love the urban navy as a fun alternative to black while still being dark enough not to show stains!

I love these pants!

I bought these for skiing/snowboarding but I ended up wearing them on a winter trip to Canada. I basically lived in them, especially because I stayed at the ice hotel in Quebec and then did a lot of walking around in the cold sightseeing. They're fashionable looking, relatively thin for snowpants, cozy, and comfy. They were a wee bit too long for me but I am supershort (5'1" but very short legs). I bought the XS in Short. I LOVE these pants and am so glad I bought them. I won't hesitate to pull them on whenever there are snowy or super cold conditions outside.

Excellent!

Bought these in an XS Short in black. Color is accurate, fit is exactly as expected. At 5', these pants fit great with my snowboarding boots on. Wore these pants for my first ever snowboarding trip this weekend in VA (during storm Jonas)! That's right, the historic East coast storm dumping 30+ inches of snow. It was windy 20mph, very cold, and actively snowing. And it was my first time so I fell 100 times and not once did I ever get wet or cold in my legs! Granted, I'd still pair with a great baselayer, but the pant on its own does provide decent warmth if you're going in warmer climates. As for movement, I probably didn't do a ton as a beginner, but I never felt restricted, too bulky, or too hot in these pants either. All around worked great.

Nice pants

My inseam is 33" and i normally wear a size 6 or 8 in pants depending on the brand. I bought these in small, LONG inseam - and they were long enough, but it a little too snug in the hips & waist. I just ordered a medium long and am waiting on their arrival. The legs also were a bit wide toward the bottom (not bell bottom, but wider than bootcut) and therefore a bit bulky. I really wanted the FARROWS pant... they felt a little more tailored and i like the material & fit better - but they didn't come in long in the size/color i wanted. By the time i shopped around many of the long sizes were gone anyway, so my only option was black. I wish they would carry more pants/options with extended inseams on a consistent basis. Otherwise, seems like good pants.

LRBC Insulated SHORt

Incredible tailoring details to this ski pant. I prefer slacks that fit snugly around the hips and lie below the waistline. These ski pants fit the bill better than any I have tried on. Extremely comfortable and flattering. Of course, on the pragmatic side: they are lined and will very warm! (I live in Minnesota- enough said). I am 5' 3 1/2 and have to get them shortened but luckily enough the inner lining which is elasticized at the ankle fits perfectly ! (So the outer pant legs needed to be shortened 1" 1/2 or so). The warmth, comfort and tailoring of this ski pant are superb ESPECIALLY if you have a preference for a pant to lie below the waist - and there are discreet built in velcro "fabric belts" on each side to tighten the pants as much as you'd like!
