Bike buy back FAQs

    • All credit for bikes will be issued via gift card at participating REI locations.

    • Yes. You have to fill out The Pro’s Closet form online, accept your offer (if any), fill out the declaration of ownership, and bring your bike and government issued ID into a participating REI location to complete your transaction.

    • Each bike is valued independently based on The Pro’s Closet product guidelines and several other factors relevant to resale potential, including but not limited to brand, model, year and condition of the bike. As a result, The Pro's Closet may not accept bikes that do not meet its product guidelines or that it otherwise believes have little resale value.

    • All you need to bring is the bike, your government issued ID, and the 6-digit code that was emailed to you as part of the Program.

    • Selling a bike can be a stressful and difficult transaction. The Pro's Closet wants to change that for you! The Pro's Closet's strong reputation in the cycling community combined with years of expertise, allows it to quickly and easily value your bike, providing a hassle-free transaction.

    • Yes. But you will have to create one submission for each bike.

    • Your offer will be sent to you by The Pro’s Closet via email within approximately 1-3 days

    • You have 72 hours to accept your offer from The Pro’s Closet and then a further two weeks to bring your bike in to a participating REI store to complete the process.

    • Your old bike will be sent to The Pro's Closet for inspection and, if possible, resale. The Pro's Closet aims to extend the life cycle of used bikes and help match up old bikes with new loving owners.
