No Pockets? Poor Design...but well made

I love Mtn Hardware, however if you're planning on going backpacking or hiking in the cold... snow etc. I can't believe there are no hand pockets on this jacket - and unfortunately these details are not in the coat descriptions on this site - only if you carefully inspect the pictures... When the wind is whipping across the snow and you're out there trying to do something with bare hands or just liners, you really need a place to stick your hands for a few minutes... just my opinion. It's well made like most Mtn Hardwear gear,... but this design is a total failure from my point of view.

Great shell

Great shell, kept me dry all day. Kept my ski pass in the chest pocket and had no problem with the lift gates. I prefer to add my own levels of insulation based on the days weather, and this shell allows me to do this. Highly recommend.

This replaces my 15 year old Mountain Hardware all mountain Tenacity Parka that finally couldn’t be repaired further. Pleased to report that this parka is even better than I hoped, especially at this fair clearance price. The sleeves, body, hood, and everything fits well. The parka is a little on the long side but that makes it perfect for coverage only wearing pants instead of bibs. The double zipper (rare these days) makes the parka length perfectly manageable while being active and also while relaxing outside. I miss the outside storm flap over the main zipper because these waterproof zippers can sometimes let in some wind and water after a few years and I also like the Velcro or snap flap redundancies so I can still close the parka if the zipper fails. However these are minor complaints and may not ever be an issue. The one star reviewer upset about the pockets clearly doesn’t wear it in the backcountry with backpack often. This is a backcountry shell, not a city “slicker” for Chicagoans trying to look sporty. The pocket placement is perfect for wearing a pack. A backcountry parka doesn’t need to provide a place for hands to rest cozily, because that’s what gloves are for. This jacket is excellent and should provide several years of protection based on my initial assessment. 5 stars from a hard judge.

No Pockets for Hands

This jacket has no pockets for your hands and no cargo pockets near your hands. It would be helpful to mention that surprising ommission in the description.

Do not buy this!

This particular 50% off size M has now been returned at least 2, if not 3 times (once by me). It is NOT a size M. It must be mislabeled but fits about like an XL. MH needs to do some QC... My return comments said to address the sizing issue and not repost it for sale. Apparently they did not read the return comments or they don't care. Their reward is a 1 star review..... The jacket seems to be well made, just mislabeled.

Best ski jacket!!

Such a great jacket!! Very light very packable. Just what I needed. There are not any hand warmer pockets. It I felt that this jacket didn’t need them anyway. The two oversized chest pockets held what I needed. And mid layer had pockets if I needed.

Amazing. I bought this because a North Face jacket i got was horrible quality but this one is amazing. The color is so good. Only thing i’ll say is the mountain hardwear logo is white in the one i got and black in the photo.
