Ideal Running Attire
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As far as a running short goes, these are great. The fabric is very soft and breathable. The 7” length is long enough to feel good coverage, but short enough to be out of your way and they fit true to size. The pockets are nice to hold your items secure (there is one zipper pocket big enough for a phone or keys- probably not both- and two elasticized pockets on either side of the back zipper pouch). The stretchy waistband is secure yet comfortable. I only wish there were additional regular side pockets to make these shorts more versatile to every day wearing. Otherwise, they are a perfect, high-quality running short!
Great 7” Running Shorts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Men’s Journey 7” Short is a really comfortable pair of lightweight running shorts. These fit true to size being a 5’10” 180 lbs male who regularly wears large. I didn’t have to use the drawstrings, but they are available if needed. I personally really do prefer 7” inseam length shorts for the my comfort, and the length on these are perfect! From what I can tell so far with these shorts, the liner material used does well in moisture wicking to help keep dry during sweating! Last, a note on luxury! So many pockets and opportunities for storage in these shorts! I’m counting multiple stash pockets, a zippered back pocket, and even a pocket for your key to keep with you while running! Quality product and I would recommend to all runners!
Comfortable and practical
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Men's Core Journey 7" Running Shorts have been a great addition to my runs. They are lightweight and comfortable, and I barely notice them while I’m moving. The waistband sits comfortably without shifting, and I don’t have to mess with it once I start. The built-in liner is supportive and keeps me cool, even on longer runs. I have to say, the pockets are great. It’s so convenient to have space for the essentials without feeling weighed down or distracted. These shorts are comfortable, practical, and designed with runners in mind. I’ve really enjoyed wearing them and will definitely keep reaching for them on my runs.
Super Comfortable Shorts for Exercise or Running Around
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are awesome running shorts that are super comfortable and well-designed for running, cross-training, and also taking care of things around the house. The liner is supportive but not too tight and very comfortable for running movements. I also love the multiple side pockets for keys or other accessories that hold items in place but allow for quick access. The back zipper pocket is just big enough for my Pixel with a case and ensures it doesn't jostle or fall out when running. The shorts are also secure enough to not fall down even with a heavier phone in the zipper pocket. The shorts are stylish, breathable, and the materials all have held up well after a few uses and washes. The fabric feels like higher quality compared to my other running shorts I have in rotation. Overall, these shorts have been awesome for my exercise routine and hectic life.
Not my favorite fit but comfortable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband says “these shorts are super comfortable. I really like the material a lot. Where it falls short is the fit. They just feel too loose around the thigh and not the more fitted feel I go to for working out. I’ll still use them but wish they just fit a little better. For reference I am 5’ 9” and 167 lbs.” I personally like the feel but do agree with him that the width around the thighs is a bit too big.
Expect nothing less from Brooks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shorts have a great fit and breathe really well. They don’t rub my legs with long runs. They also look nice. My only complaint is the lack of side pockets in lieu of the larger back zipper pocket. I get that this keeps the design lighter and then I don’t have stuff clanking in my pockets while I run, but sometimes I stay in my shorts all day and appreciate a real pocket.
Comfortable and really well made shorts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sure! Here’s the updated review with the changes: The shorts run slightly big, but the strong inner drawstring keeps them snug on my waist. The interior liner is super comfortable and supportive without feeling too tight, even when I wear boxers instead of boxer briefs. I barely notice them while running, which shows how well-made they are. The elastic waistband is snug but not restrictive, and it stays in place even if I forget to tie the string. The 7" length is just right—not too short—and the design holds up well after washing and drying. The fabric is perfect for anyone who sweats a lot. It wicks moisture away really well, so I don’t get that uncomfortable damp feeling. I love how comfortable they are, even when I’m just wearing boxers. They’re versatile enough to wear for running short and medium distances and then run errands afterward without feeling out of place. The pockets are great, especially the back pocket, which easily fits my large phone. It’s a nice bonus that I can carry my phone comfortably without needing an armband.
Running shorts that check all the boxes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Men’s Journey 7” Running Shorts strike an excellent balance between comfort, functionality, and performance. These shorts are ideal for runners by providing that perfect balance of both coverage and freedom of movement. The fabric is lightweight and breathable, ensuring comfort during both short runs and extended training sessions. The inner brief lining provides additional support without cutting in or riding up. The material wicks away moisture effectively, helping to keep you dry and feeling good. One of the standout features is the pockets—there are three back pockets which provide plenty of space to carry essentials like keys, a phone and even a snack. The zippered pocket is particularly useful for securing valuables, which is a great addition for runners on the go. The material has excellent stretch and doesn’t restrict movement, making it not only super comfortable but also great for various activities beyond running, such as gym workouts or casual wear. The quality of the material and stitching is impressive, withstanding frequent washes without signs of wear. These shorts are built to last, even with heavy use. The Brooks Men’s Journey 7” Running Shorts are a solid choice for runners seeking comfort, durability, and utility. Whether you’re training for a marathon or enjoying a casual jog, these shorts won’t disappoint. Highly recommended for those who value practicality and style in their running gear.
Journey 7” Running Shorts Review
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Men’s Journey 7” short is a great pair of shorts for running. They have cell phone pouches on each side, both at the hip and rear hip. There is also a nice secure zip pocket on the rear that can hold a standard phone, but not a plus size phone. Running with a phone in the rear zip pocket felt a little loose, but the other positions were great. I did not feel much phone movement in the hip pouches, nor did I feel like my phone would fall out at any time. The rear zipped pocket might be better for keys or a credit card. The shorts were a good size for running with adequate length and good moisture wicking material. They have internal underwear, but they could be worn over boxer briefs and still feel fine. They generally were still dry after a run other than the waist band. The shorts were great from a design for technology while running perspective. They are well designed running shorts, but would not be great shorts for casual wear since there are no front pockets. They also are a little short for casual wear. I really liked that the shorts had a good dry fit material to keep you dry and cool during a run. The multiple phone pouches were also a great addition. I question how long the pouch elastic will last, but that will take time to evaluate. The only complaint I would have is that the shorts material was wrinkly. Out of the box they were wrinkly, and that hasn’t gone away yet after several runs. I’ll have to wash them to see if that smoothes them out. I suspect it will based upon other similar materials I’ve had in clothing. All in all these are great shorts and I’m glad to have a pair of them to run in.
Solid shorts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Journey running shorts are exceptionally comfortable, with a fit that feels secure yet flexible. The design is sleek and modern, with a well-placed zippered back pocket that was large enough to fit my phone. The fabric is lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying so these performed when when I used them for intermediate length runs as well as casual workouts. I found the internal lining comfortable and also appreciate the wide, soft waistband which stays in place without digging in or causing discomfort.
