I needed socks to replace cotton in order to absorb moisture. I was looking for Smartwool but found this brand and the reviews were all great. I bought them large so that they would not put pressure on my problem feet. They are superb for hanging around socks and so far have done fine for walking. I plan to get Smartwool for more energetic walks and hikes, but these are very useful. Soft and comforting and the top elastic is loose enough but stays up fine to protect against misquitoes in the garden. Good colors.
My first impression is that these socks are just OK. I purchased them because they were on sale, and I needed some new socks for everyday use. I've worn them only a few times, so my opinion may change over time. They are knit with a bulkier yarn and have a looser fit than the socks I've been wearing (Smartwool and Hollow alpaca). I think they are OK for casual wear, but not sure how they would measure up for more active pursuits like running and hiking.
I wear a size 12 narrow shoe. I bought in Large size and the socks are a little large for my foot. This has not happened with other brands.
