Sizing Notes
For boots: Add one half size to your street shoe size. You should be able to slip one finger behind your heel when you are standing up with the boot unlaced and your toes touching the front. If the boot is too short, your toes will get smashed walking downhill. Too long and your heel will slide up and down and give you blisters.

Love these shoes
I am on my third pair of BoulderXs. I try other approach shoes in between, but keep coming back. They are comfortable right out of the box and are a surprisingly good rock climbing shoe. They do well in cracks and can edge. When I was in the Bugaboos I actually ended up ditching my mountain boots some days and climbed in the BoulderX instead (they took strap on crampons pretty well!). I love these shoes, but gotta say...I wish they put more rubber around the toe cap! Over time I wear a hole in the toe on every pair over. Otherwise, it is a super durable shoe!
Amazing Hiking/Approach Shoes
The first hike I did in these was Longs Peak. 15 miles, 5000' of vert, one blister bandaid on my heel and I was fine. These are super sticky on flat rock. And the color is awesome!!
My favorite hiking shoe yet
This shoe has great fit, support, traction and durability. I've been using them for trail hiking, rock scrambles and on hard packed snow and ice. I've come to value them so much that I'm ordering another pair while they are still available so I won't be heartbroken when they eventually wear out. And on that note, they are holding their shape - not stretching out and the sole isn't showing any wear, despite my having put in a lot of miles with them.
Love this shoe
Great approach shoe. I tried on many before finding this shoe. Definitely heavier than most approach shoes, but I was looking for something that could support weight and long mileage. The first time I wore them, the heel rubbed a bit, but after a couple uses they are broken in and feel great.
Sole to upper design makes shoe unstable
Third time wearing these I rolled both ankles more than once during the same hike. The last time it caused me to fall. I am a strong hiker and have never rolled an ankle in all of the years that I have hiked. I Also felt pressure under my little toe in both sides of my feet. I have a narrow foot so someone with a normal to wide foot would definitely have a problem. I will be returning these as soon as I am able.
Very comfortable, sturdy shoe
I LOVE these approach shoes. My size was not available at the store so I ordered them online. At first I was afraid they were too small even though it is the same size I wear with other shoes of this brand. I decided to wear them in the house for a day and they just needed to be broken in I think because now they feel perfect. They are very study, comfortable and don’t slip. They seem a little thick and bulky and I was afraid my feet my sweat but so far I have not had that problem.
Review for BOULDER X WOMEN'S
After years of trying to find an approach shoe that fits well and performs, I finally found one! This shoe is super supportive on long approaches and durable too. Ive also been amazed at how well they climb! I sized them to fit like a glove with just enough length so my toes are fine on long descents. I feel like theyve molded to my feet perfectly. (I've got narrow feet) I almost always wear them when Im route setting in the gym and am constantly impressed with the moves I can pull off while wearing them. The rubber is super sticky and they edge really well too. Im definitely getting another pair of these soon the treads are almost gone. You can even wear them with gaiters since theres space on the sole for the bottom strap! Love!
forgot i was wearing them
straight out of the box these feel comfortable. i walked an easy trail for a few hours and honestly forgot i was wearing them. i love oboz sawtooth lows but these might be my new favs.
Too small
I wear a women's 9 us/ 40 eu in most shoes but saw that these ran small. I ordered size 40.5 and they were still too small so I had to return them. The heel of the shoe also felt too low and could be annoying. But the shoes looked very functional and cute! I wish they would have fit.
Review for BOULDER X WOMEN'S
Best approach shoe I've ever owned. As a climbing guide, I'm really hard on my shoes. Come winter time, I spend my time traveling and climbing. These shoes come with me everywhere I go. They are comfortable enough for all day wear, super durable and long lasting, incredibly supportive and sturdy, and they perform really well on technical approaches and even easy slab/crack climbs. I'm on my third pair now, and I strongly reccomend these shoes if you are looking for one approach shoe that does it all.
