Most useful cord I have!

I bought this little piece of kit not to look more like grandpa or dad, but to hold my glasses in place in a high paced environment. I work at a restaurant, so I'm coming from running around all day on my feet, in and out of walk in sub zero freezers, dashing from across the kitchen to the front-of-house and out the door with an order in hand to the patio and back. These are saving my glasses from the punishment of being dropped constantly (which happened quite frequently). Now with the pandemic, we're having to wear masks with ear loops as part of our uniform. I don't mind that, but it does leave little space for the ear retainers on your glasses to stay in place, hence the accidental slippage. I cannot say hpow many times this little piece of cord saves my glasses from fatally falling to the floor to be trampled by other servers. And coming out of the freezer having them fog up and obscuring my vision? I just simply slide them off and have them dangle around my neck. The slide is perfect too because it allows me to adjust the cord to really hold my glasses to my face or give me room to hang them grandpa style. And I thought the pieces of rubber that hold the retainers to the eyeglasses looked flimsy and would rip/tear, this is not the case. They're durable and functional and will slide to accomodate any position I require. I highly recommend a set of these for anyone that wears glasses in extremely active settings, especially in restaurants. If there's one thing to say it's this - grandpa had it right having eyeglasses retainers like these.

Awkward fit

I usually wear straps that attach behind the ear, but after my last pair wore out I thought I’d give these a try. My bad. The rubber pieces that hold the glasses are larger and more awkward than I thought they’d be, and after wearing them for a long walk I realize they’re just what I was looking for, and that I miss my old familiar attach at the back straps. This experiment was a fail.

back for a second pair

I lost my first pair- not due to them slipping off. My cheap sunglasses broke and while I was getting a new pair, these disappeared. I'm one of those people who wear sunglasses all the time, very sensative eyes, so these are life savers. these worked well for my active lifestyle- hiking, biking, SUPing, dog walking, etc - now I don't have to worry about where I put my glasses

Cool

Finally, eyeglass retainers that are long enough. I've bee making my own out of cord for a while because I couldn't find ones that were long enough. Usually they're do short so glasses are up around you neck if you want to take them off and let them "rest". However, these Chums to let your glasses hang at a fairly comfortable resting length. And if too long you can adjust them shorter. Personally I could have used another couple of inches but so far these were the best I've found.

Flimsy

This item is pretty stylish but not very sturdy. I had mine for a few weeks before a slight pull that was a bit too strong broke one of the stem that loops over the glass frame.

Doesn’t slip off

I used these eyewear retainers on a recent vacation with a lot of swimming in lakes. They never slipped off of my glasses or even felt like they were going to. Also, the slide in the back to adjust the size/tightness around your head never slipped either, but was easy to adjust when needed. I have standard sized plastic frames so I don’t know how they would fit on the smaller ear pieces of some metal frames.

Discrete

I really like these as they are not bulky like some and are pretty flexible. I hate wearing any of these but, when you are taking photos, they are the best way of quickly being able to drop the glasses without losing them! They are also good when kayaking. The rubber ends grip well - I lost some glasses with a type that just had a small cinching method and it must have come lose. Now I just have to stop losing these ones as I have bought maybe four!

Saved my glasses

I was forced into purchasing as I don't have a back up pair of glasses. I thought the river was pretty tame. Was glad I used them through some of the Class 2 & 3 Rapids!

Great with hearing Aids

Excellent retainer for those using hearing aids as they do not add any thickness where the eyeglasses rest behind the ear alongside the hearing aid.

Stretches Too Much After Some Time

I bought this in the beginning of May and now it’s almost the beginning of July. The elastic the holds onto the glasses are starting to wear off and falls off from time to time. I like to place the elastic at the back end of the frame so that how it falls off. Still works but now I have to place it closer to where the lens are.
