My SECOND Pair of These!
I bought a pair of these from another retailer about two years ago. They instantly became my favorite sunglasses ever. I loved them so much, and others loved them so much, that I also bought a pair for my sister. Recently, my glasses were stolen from my car and I instantly headed to REI to replace them. I bought mine in the matte brown tortishell color, just like the first pair. I love that the matte finish is a little more unique, as most sunglasses have a shiny frame. The shape is flattering on almost any face (I have let people try them on, and have seen other people out and about with them on occasion), and is perfect for everyday use. The sun protection is excellent, but I can still see through the glasses with no weird color issues. The fit is perfect, just tight enough to stay on my head with light activity (hiking, driving, kayaking) but without giving me a headache. I hardly ever even notice they are there honestly. They are that comfy. This is also aided, in my opinion, by the narrow temple pieces that do not squeeze my head. They come with a case and cleaning cloth, and the case has one hard side to protect the lenses. If for some reason something happens to these glasses (I lose them or break them somehow), I will definitely buy another pair. Hopefully I can keep these ones forever though!
Super cute but won’t stay on if you get sweaty
I bought these from another retailer and they have held up for 3+ years. Pros: lightweight, stylish, block out enough light for hiking on sunny/exposed California trails. Cons: these slide down my nose constantly when I’m hiking if my face gets sweaty. They tend to fog up and retain moisture. They do not provide good contrast—they just block out sunlight. Accordingly, wouldn’t recommend for dawn/dusk hikes when the sun is coming in at a sharper angle.
