Surprisingly supple

I have been wearing the ski (read - over the calf) socks for awhile now, because it gives me good temperature regulation no matter the weather (over-the-calf socks and knickers: Retro trend!). I was worried these heavier-weight socks would be too much like the old-fashioned bunchy ragg wools, but they are comfortable and keep my legs just right. The material is cushiony and feels great - substantial but not overbearing. And they still feel fine if I push them down when the hike gets a little warm. The lifetime warranty is super-fantastic; thanks to the REI staff for filling me in on this. If I ever wear a hole in them, I just send them in and get a new pair!

Love Darn Tough

Darn tough makes great socks, but I'm not totally thrilled with these. The quality is awesome, like with their other sock styles that I own. The only problem with these is that they won't stay up. Otherwise, they're great socks.

Best Darn Socks Ever!

I've been wearing Best Darn socks for a couple years now and my first pair still look and feel almost new. They out wear other high end wool socks my miles! They are spendy but you definitely get what you pay for with these!

Great cushioning and warmth, strong elastic keeps them from sagging or drooping. Have done multiple cold weather hikes and overnights with these, they are the truth.

Socks worked great while climbing in the snow and frigid weather of the Colorado mountains. Feet never felt cold.

My new replacement for SmartWool PhD ski socks.

Loved these immediately out of the box. I own 5 pairs of SmartWool PhD knee high light or medium weight Merino ski socks which I wear daily under my dress pants and shoes. But I am ordering more Darn Tough now to replace them. The PHD socks are a bit softer but otherwise, Darn Tough wins.

Great Cold Weather Sock

I like my hiking socks to ride high, all the way over my calves; for support, warmth, and general comfort. I normally wear a 10.5, and I went up to the 12.5 to 14.5 socks and they are perfect. The Merino wool has kept my feet warm, and dry even in the coldest of days this winter.

Best socks I've ever owned.

i bought these socks around christmas time 2016 with the intention of using them as my sacred socks. These socks were for when all else failed in the coldest most stormy conditions only when all else fails to keep warm. i couldn't wait that long so i wore them to work (i work in a seafood and meat department) and working in a fridge during winter with holes in your boots it gets pretty wet and cold back there more wet than any normal meat department by the way and these socks kicked butt. They're the most comfy socks... -sips coffee- ever(.) i bought the skiing socks medium cushioning and i heard reviews from the light cushioned socks saying that they would keep your feet warm when wet and i did not find this to be the case with even the medium cushioning, but these heavy cushioning socks pulled through and saved my butt. Buy a couple of these socks if not more, have a whole suitcase of them and take them with you to japan, i dont know what you need to do but get yourself a pair if you can; they're just straight up comfy, they're well made, and you can tell there not looking to just rip you off, and have you buy a new pair when they deteriorate on you. In addition life time warranty ya foo, you cant go wrong! ^^

Good socks

Warm and great quality. I would give them a 5 star rate but they go almost up to my knee and I think they are a bit too tall for my liking but I love them
