Makes it easy
I’ve been so impressed by this roof rack. It makes it so easy to take my paddle board to local lakes and on vacations farther away. While on vacation, not having anywhere to store my paddle board, I was able to leave it locked on top of my car. I’ve had other roof racks for kayaks, but they always had components that I had to keep track of or took longer to set up. With this rack, everything is attached, making it easy to manipulate and secure to transport.
Easy, convenient way to transport SUPs
This carrier works great for transporting paddle boards. It took my husband less than 15 minutes to put it on the Thule crossbars on our Honda CRV. It takes much less time to load and unload our boards now (previously we were using the rack and a homemade system on his pickup.) We use it to transport 2 boards and it works fine. If you plan to transport 2 boards, you will need 2 pieces of foam padding to put between the boards (one toward front, one toward rear where they would otherwise knock against each other.) We also transport our paddles in the carrier too - one on each side of the boards. Great product. Wish we would have bought it sooner.
Makes it easier
I have two blow up paddle boards and this makes life so much easier so we don’t have to pump them up when we get somewhere we can do it the night before. And we don’t have to deflate at the end either plus the locks give us a piece of mind when we run into a store or to eat
After a long search the Sup Dawg is the one.
Probably spent way too much time picking a surf rack and very happy went with the Sup Dawg. Mounted it to the Yakima Overhaul HD rack setup on a 2019 Silverado truck and takes about 2 minutes, really easy. Use it daily for two surfboards but easily have put 2 soft tops along with a glass longboard in a bag on it and still has room. Takes all over 30 sec to strap your boards and the wheel is a nice touch for rolling your boards up on the rack. The strap also has a cable running through it to prevent someone from quickly cutting it to get your boards. Picked this over the Thule setup mostly on aesthetics. The Thule seems to stick out way above your truck where you can practically leave the SupDawg on all the time, there’s little to noise from the wind since it is so low profile.
Very easy to use
This is a great SUP rack. I previously had the a Thule and it was very difficult to get my board on it on top of my SUV. The Supdawg rack has little rollers that allow me to gently guide my SUP on top of my tall SUV. The straps are easy to feed into the rollers and easily locks down. The locking features are easy to use and I feel my board and rack are more secure The rack is sleek and sophisticated.
Game changer
Easy to install. Holds 1-2 boards well. So much better than the 4 straps wrapped around the roof of the car. So quick to load boards on and off.
easy to use, very secure
Pros: 1. The rack is super easy to install (once you figure out what the instructions are saying: more on that later) 2. For a subaru outback, it just works out of the box: none of the additional adapters are necessary. 3. The rack is super secure. I just took my 9-8" longboard to the beach in Florida driving about 65-70 on state highways for 2 hours. I'm used to boards flopping around on my old soft rack...no more! This thing was incredibly secure. When I got to the beach, the board was locked down tight. I would trust this on the interstate. (In fact, I did actually drive up I-95 on this trip for 20 minutes). 4. It's so so so easy to put this rack on and off, and to put boards on and off. 5. The key locking system is nice -- it locks the rack to the car, and the board to the rack so you can go eat lunch with some peace of mind. Cons: 1. The instructions are garbage -- they're like the ikea cartoon kind with no words, but clearly written by a drunk person that assumes you can figure out what their random pictures mean. Since this is superficial though (once you figure it out, then the rack is amazing) I didn't ding on the stars for it. I just googled for installation videos, and some showed up that made it pretty easy to figure out.
Easy to use, right out of the box!
I have used the SUPDawg for a few weeks now. It's a super easy to use rack, and carries my board securely and safely. I have it on a safari rack on a Jeep Wrangler and I have no problem loading it. My only complaint is this, the pads leave black marks on my board. I can take the marks off but it is annoying...
Great SUP rack
I've had this SUP rack for about a month and it's really awesome. Love the ease of use. The straps feel well made. It's ready to go straight out of the box. This works with round or square bars, it has extra attachments for round bars so Yakima made this to fit virtually any roof rack setup. I have Thule roof racks so it fit just fine. I love the ability to lock the straps so if I need to make a quick trip inside a store with my board on top, it won't get stolen. I've previously owned the Thule SUP taxi and I prefer the Yakima SUPDawg over the Thule. The profile of the Thule SUP taxi is quite high, so if you have an SUV and you're using the Thule, you have to lift your board higher to get it in the rack, and I felt like I couldn't tighten the straps tight enough for highway driving. And the locking mechanism isn't my favorite. I just wasn't a fan. Also didn't really like the look of the rack. The SUPDawg has a low, clean profile and even has rollers to help you load your board on to the rack. I have a small SUV (Volvo XC40) so loading my board is easy, and I appreciated the rollers.
great product
Easy to install and operate. Everything you need comes in the box. I had mine installed in about 5 minutes. Tested with my board on the interstate and it did great.
