These shoes do what they need to do
Hi There, If you are looking for a versatile shoe then this is it. I have put in about 4K miles in my pair and they perform perfectly. They come out of the cleats cleanly and are stiff enough so that my feet are not fatigued. Most weekday mornings I first go out for a ride and then to the gym. These are the shoes I wear during my work out. I do not notice the cleat, my cleats do not get worn and most importantly my back or knees do not ache due to a weird platform under the ball of my foot. Walking around a farmers market on asphalt is a breeze too. They maybe are not the most fashionable, the style is a bit nebulous and so I do not mind. I give em a thumbs up.
Love this shoe
I really like these shoes. I was in search of a clip-in bike shoe for commuting to work and that would work well for a stop at the grocery store, the bar, or otherwise. They fit the bill for all those things. I also wanted a somewhat feminine shoe while not being pink or decorated with flower or butterflies. I have the grey pair and it's a great casual looking shoe. I even wore these around the office all day once. The vibram soles make them versatile and I feel more confident walking on foot in these than my old shoes which were much more slippery. Only criticism is that the laces are too long but I trimmed these down and laces are ~$4 so that's a negligible detail. And while the vibram is nice, there are moments when I'm unclipping my shoe and my the rubber traction is slower to pull of the pedal. I'm getting used to it though and barely notice anymore. Highly recommend this women's bike shoe!!
Decent looking but didn't quite fit right
I got these as a casual bike shoe. I wear between a size 7 and 7.5 in women's street shoes, so started out with a 39, but my toe hit up right against the front of the shoe. The 40 felt okay on the bike but my heel popped out when I walked, so I decided to return both. The shoe looks okay, just like a regular sneaker, and has a stiff bottom which is nice. They're probably pretty comfortable if you can find your size.
Good shoe
These are my first biking shoes and they work well for SPD pedals and are great for when I need to hop off my bike and walk around. They work really well in a city setting. The shoe does size small though - so remember to try on and size up! I am about a size 9 and had to get these in 42 as opposed to 40.
gets the job done
I didn't think REI had a great selection of women's clipless shoes, at least at the location where I was. These fit the somewhat casual (non-shiny black racing looking ones) style, but I don't think they are that attractive. They are fairly stiff and the support on the back of the heel sometimes digs into me uncomfortably.
Great shoe, size up!
I found these at the REI garage sale in size 41, tried them on and they were the perfect fit. When I found out 41 is equivalent to a 9 I was pretty surprised, as I’m a 7.5-8 in street shoes. I love that these shoes are narrow in the heel and wide near the ball of my feet. They are so comfortable to wear cycling and walking around after!
Nice run small tho
Very nice run small tho I bought a 41 and I am 8.5 shoes size, should have bought a 42 ..
Great Women’s Shoe!
Just started wearing these after trying the Pearl Izumi X-Alp Canyon shoe. I was looking for a shoe for my hybrid bike pedals. Shoe fits my narrow heel much better than the PI shoe, while the PI shoe feels more like a sneaker. I can stop into a store on the way home as these are easy to walk in. Both of these shoes run smaller than my road shoes, so size up at least one size!
