Water Tight - Worked Great!
Bought sets for the family along with the Jungle Nest Hammocks. Worked nice even with light overnight rain. The combo made it bug free and dry. Very nice!
AWESOME !!
I had but a few minutes until a severe thunder storm deluged me and I had absolutely no problem setting up the rain fly and avoiding getting wet. It was so very simple to set up even being my first time with this product. I stayed perfectly dry all night long through the inclement weather and I loved it. I used it in conjunction with a double-nester and slept like a baby. I have a micro-lite sleeping bag in addition to the hammock and pro-fly and they all can be easily packed and stowed on the rear rack of my bike! I have nothing but praise for this item.
Thoroughly impressive, but a tad small
Ordering this rainfly had me just as excited to break in as anything else ENO has thrown at me so far. It's three times as small and light as my old rainfly, and packs very easily. folding and rolling it up works in seconds when you do it with a friend, or if you're like me you can just stuff it into the bag like I do with my hammock. The material is strong and looks great. I was anticipating to have to replace the included cord with bungee cords, but I was impressed with those as well. they tie easily and well, and conveniently connect to and adjust from the fly like drawstrings. However, the ties are only 9 feet long so you may need extra line at least for the top connection. My 2 pieces of constructive criticism are as follows: I wish at least 2 of those included bits of line were twice as long, and I would have loved if the fly itself was at least a foot longer in length. I love this thing, and I got more than I was expecting out of it. But I would probably use my old poly tarp if I was expecting a lengthly downpour or sideways rain.
Held up in a Blizzard
The Eno Prolfy is an awesome product. I used this for a weekend in Julian, CA when the forecast called for heavy rains for 2 days straight. I set this up in the rain in a matter of minutes. It poured down rain for 6 hours straight and as night fell it turned into a blizzard with gusts of 30 mph and heavy sleet, hail and then snow. I woke up to 7 inches on the ground. No condensation on the underside. I can't yet speak for durability over multiple uses, but as far as I can tell now, this thing is money.
Good Tarp, Poor Straps
I tested this last weekend on a winter camping trip. The first attachment point snapped immediately out of the bag. Thankfully, I am able to tie knots and was able to secure it for the night. It held up with rain, wind and snow. I paired it with the eno doublenest, ember underquilt and a mountain warehouse sleeping bag. Super comfy night, slept 8 hours at 20°F that night. Highly recommend, minus the attachmetn points
Great for your ENO hammock
I've had my ProFly now for about 7 years. I have used it in driving rains and dry deserts. I try to pick a place where I can tie down at least one side to trees or vertical supports. This way the side can be lifted up easy to let the sun and breeze in when dry. Adjust the tie downs low and you are good to go against some of the hardest rains. I suggest setting the fly up low and the hammock high into the top of the fly. This will keep you "inside" the fly nicely on those really windy days/nights. I did replace the standard ties with reflecting line and "9" tie downs. Makes for a better experience at night when the last thing you want to do is trip over lines.
Fantastic, but pay attention to wind direction!
My wife gave me the double nest and ProFly for hammock camping, and I have to say I am hooked! Takes up much less room then my tent, and is so very comfortable. This does not come with stakes, so I chose the MSR Mini Ground Hog Stakes, "https://www.rei.com/product/829838/msr-mini-ground-hog-stake" and they work awesome. Couple things...I found that the lines provided are too this to use on a tree without violating the NPS rules on straps. So I bring a couple of lengths of wider webbing and attach it to them, the other item is that I recomend that before you run your lines, pull some back through the toggle where it connects to the fly, it will make it easier to adjust. That and when packing it up, I pull half of the lines back through the toggle, which makes it easier to wind it up. I have no issue packing it back into the stuff sack, and infact use compression straps to make it smaller. Fits nicely in one of the exterior pockets of my Frost river Isle Royal Jr bag. P.S. My camp sight was on the ridge, and found that I needed to make the sides steeper due to the wind. If the wind was blowing end to end in colder weather this might be a chilly night!
Great for general use.
Used this all the time for tailgating and camping.
Game Changer!
This tarp is a game changer. I was gifted it to use with my hammock, but found it saved the day on a car camping trip when a rainstorm blew in. We covered our picnic table with it and were able to eat and chat comfortably underneath. In the morning all of our belongings were still dry. Awesome tarp, super lightweight. My only complaint would be it's a bit difficult to tighten the straps attaching to the tree. They slip and loosen sometimes, but once I just tied knots the problem was solved.
Easy setup and all you need
I used this for the first time and it kept me dry in light/moderate rain and wind. The best part is how easy it is to setup. Great for people new to hammock camping who haven't learned their knots or are just looking for a very quick setup. Nice to have the instructions attached to the stuff sack - just in case. The guy lines are super reflective when you shine a light on them at night. I also appreciate the velcro loops to keep everything neat and untangled. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is only as long as you need it to be. There's not much excess beyond the length of my ENO DoubleNest Hammock, which worked fine for me! Looking forward to bringing this on many more trips.
