  • Thermoformed ABS plastic hull material is stiff and light like traditional composite kayaks and with similar looks, but costs considerably less
  • Acrylic Solarkote™ protects the high gloss and color of the kayak from UV rays
  • Hull shape enhances primary stability without compromising secondary stability or manuverability, even when fully loaded for long trips
  • Seats are adjustable forward and backward even while paddling so the trim of the kayak can be adjusted on the move
  • Cockpit-deployable aluminum rudder system enhances tracking while minimizing side-slipping and helping with steering when you need it
  • 4 bulkheads create 3 expedition-sized hatches to add buoyancy and keep all your gear dry during long trips or day paddles
  • Hardshell, recessed hatch covers with neoprene hatch seals are secured via bungee closures
  • Neoprene-padded seat and adjustable backband offer comfort and support on long trips; neoprene padding on thigh bracing improves comfort and control
  • Cockpit-adjustable foot braces fit most paddlers and feature a locking mechanism to disable rudder control movement
  • Bungee deck rigging at bow and stern retains extra gear
  • Ergonomic rubber grab handles are easy on hands and make car-topping and transport to the water a snap

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great purchase ... well worth the price I bought the Delta 20T Kayak just over a month ago and my wife and I have used it five times, so far. To begin with, the website pictures do not do justice to the actual kayak. It is absolutely beautiful with a deep lustrous shine. The kayak is incredibly stable and easy to get into. While it take a lot to turn it sharply, it is much more maneuverable than I thought it would be. The seats are comfortable and adjustable. Storing the kayak is a little difficult because of the 20 foot length, as is transporting it. It will most likely be as long, if not longer than the vehicle hauling it. The separation distance between the two cockpits is perfect ... close enough to hear each other, but no conflict between the two sets of paddles. The kayak operates great in very shallow water, even with it being loaded down. I would buy it again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tandem My wife and I bought this kayak two years ago as a way to share our love for paddling while eliminating the gap in our relative experience and strength (in other words, she felt guilty if I had to slow down for her). I wish we had done that much sooner. The seats easily adjust so that I can take a friend out when they visit and back again when going out on the water with my wife. The cargo storage holds are large enough to hold all of the gear we have ever wanted to travel with and there is additional storage using the deck (bungee) rigging that I have found useful for items that I want to have access to while paddling. The rudder is easy to use and is a must for a tandem in my opinion to allow the captain/pilot to maintain tracking while paddling. Keeping to one direction without a rudder while two people are trying to paddle is difficult at best. I also really like the hull material as well. It is much smoother in the water than the composite materials that many kayak hulls are made from, meaning that less effort has to be expended to propel the kayak - it makes a big difference after 3+ hours on the water!

I'm new to kayaking but looking for a tandem for both me and my wife. Maybe it's a stupid question but since this kayak has a rudder, is the rudder controlled from the rear seat or the front..? I'm assuming you're using foot controls for rudder steering.

Asked by: cdnred
The rudder is foot controlled from the stern seat. The bow seat only has standard foot pegs.
