Merrell  Jungle Moc Shoes - Men's

The month before my wife and I left on an Around-the -World trip I purchased a Black and Gunsmoke version of the Jungle Mocs. I have had an older pair for a long time and wanted to look my best and have new tread for our adventure. After visiting 9 countries and traveling more than 30,000 miles, they look as good as the day I got them.

Just prior to leaving for an Around-the-World trip, I purchased a pair of the Black Jungle Mocs go go along with my Gunsmoke version. I ordered a wide version for comfort. I wore them in 9 countries and they performed well and after a good brushing, look as good as the day I got them.

I love this style so much that I keep buying different colors and, of course, replacing them when they wear out. On most days, work or general life, I wear Jungle Mocs.

These are the most comfortable walking shoes I've ever owned--in fact, I'm on my third pair. Since I wear them everyday I do notice that the soles don't last as long as the used to--not sure what's changed in the manufacturing. Also notice the inner lining gets trashed with use, but no more than my other shoes. The rest of the shoe is great--easy to slip off in airport security lines, can walk around a city all day without buring, aching feet. In fact, I've never felt more comfortable on travel than with these shoes. They used to make a ventilator moc which was the most breathable thing I've ever worn, but the Jungle aren't bad. My feet stay dry in Seattle in light misty rain, but not so great in a down pour or winter puddles.

After wearing out several pairs of these Mocs, I'm back for another pair. These are simply the best year-around, causal shoe/slipper for northern climes. They are especially well-suited for the wetness of the Pacific Northwest. The style, comfort, and durability allow me to wear them everywhere: to/from mountainbiking and road riding, short day-hikes, camping, dog walks, errands, home projects, work (ugghhh), and lounging around the house. They are limited on breathability, so when sporting on the east-side of the Cascades (where the days are sunny and warm), they can get a little hot and sticky if not worn with a pair of socks.

In a world plagued by long airport security lines, noone likes that guy taking twenty minutes to tie his shoes. Don't be that guy. I do a lot of business travel, and these are dead on perfect for it; substantial enough for walking through manufactuing facilities, neat enough to wear with a pair of khakis, and of course quick to kick off at that security checkpoint. They can also be respectably waterproof with a simple nubuck sealing kit. Only problem I have is when my feet slip around inside the mocs on extreme footing - walking in San Francisco is rather exciting. Maybe not the best trail shoes, but I do not expect them to be.

When I first got these shoes, I was thrilled with their fit, and knew I'd wear them all the time. After a few days of wear, they had accumulated some spots and mud patches, and I cringed at the thought of messing up the suede finish trying to clean them, but then I remembered that they were waterproof. I ran them under a hose faucet and scrubbed them with a wire brush and they came out spotless and like new. I've since taken them out hiking on muddy winter trails, undaunted by the thought of having to clean them before wearing them somewhere where dried mud isn't appreciated. They have continued to perform admirably through any trial.

My 2nd Jungle Moc,it’s my favorite slip on shoes.I had my 1st one in gun smoke color and i really loved it.Soo comfy to wear,nice fit and very durable shoes.Bought the 2nd one in Dusty olive color cause that’s the one on sale and it was a replacement on the very worn bottom sole of my first one.I will buy this as long as there is still jungle moc out there.

The Moc was designed to wear on normal trail surfaces and be stable in loose gravel or dirt. They resist slipping even if the surface is wet. I find the elastic side links to be good for modest slopes but not so much when on steep surfaces. S good value for general outdoor activity.

Just received my new Merrell Mocs and I absolutely love them. Light, comfortable, and stylish. This is my new go to everyday footwear going forward.
