Great practical pack

This is a tough, practical pack with great capacity. Two minor things would make it even better. First, it is large enough that depending what kind of weight you're carrying, a hip belt might be nice. Second, I love that the top pocket is so large, but if it were pleated at the sides so that you could stuff it full if you want to but keep it smaller if you want to stuff the main compartment instead, the pack would be even MORE flexible and practical than it already is. Really nice pack overall, though.

Worst pack I’ve owned.

Worst backpack I’ve owned. I’ve been a Patagonia customer for nearly 30 years, owned a half dozen or more Patagonia bags, and probably 20+ backpacks as an adult. I’m a serious backpacker who lives in a city with a brutal commute. This is the wirdt backpack and Patagonia product I’ve owned. This backpack is nearly worthless. It has almost no internal organization. The handles are placed so it cannot be open while hanging. Apart from the unusable design, the quality is bad. Both water bottle pockets are torn after about 6 months. The fabric itself is too stiff and is showing wear from folds. The seams leak like a sieve. I’ve never had a bag as vulnerable to water intrusion. The seems appear to wick water from the outside to the inside. Oh, and the fabric absorbs water so don’t spill anything on it or the pack will reek even after rinsing.

disappointed

I was super excited to get this pack; have wanted but not needed a Patagonia pack for years. The fabrics is awesome. Unfortunately, the zipper layout of this pack severely limits its functionality. I think it cuts 30% of the volume out of the main section if the outer and upper pouches are already in use. I’ve always taken my packs to end of life (3 years), but after 6mo, I’m looking to replace this one.
