Liner deteriorating

Great jacket, until I put it on recently only to find the liner has begun to fail. Not what I'd expect from Marmot, especially at this price point.

great deal for gore-tex like jackat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I lost my older Precip. This is a great upgrade that is more waterproof and breathable. Just got in time for a rainy weekend and it performed great. As others mentioned, the feel is softer and less plastic like. If you are looking to upgrade for less than gore-tex with similar perm rating, you should consider this one. I am a 42 chest and ordered the large. It is slightly big but works for me because I can layer under it. Still torn on whether I should have gone with medium but it may have been too small. Higher pocket are great for backpacking.

Great for hunting & everyday life

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initial quality seems quite good. I am 5' 9" 180 lbs with avg build and bought size large to wear over my 850 fill down jacket and fit is perfect for that, no binding. Also not too big to wear everyday without the puffy. Fabric is pretty quiet for a rain jacket, no annoying swooshing when hiking, even when paired with marmot scree pants (nylon). Only worn it once in rain, kept me dry. Seems like it's going to br great for both hunting trips and everyday life. Marmot products have never let me down.

No snaps they were great

It's ok. I liked the one I got a long time ago that had snaps as well as a zipper. Easier to open and close without fussing with zipper.

Good Value

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have to try it out in rain but the jacket looks good though it runs slightly large to accommodate other layers underneath. Got it for a great price on sale. Marmot products are top-notch so expect this one to last as well. This supplements the 3-ply Marmot Gore-Tex Parka I bought over 2 decades ago which I use primarily for multi-day hikes. I plan to use this jacket for running on rainy days.

Just right

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for a trip abroad last month. It packed well, looked good (black is always good), and kept me dry during 2 mornings of heavy rain--one of the mornings was to be a walking tour of Paris neighborhoods. Jacket also is breathable unlike other rain jackets I have owned, and the pit zips work when you're a little warmer than you want to be. Well done Marmot!

Upgraded Precip

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had a precip jacket for about 20 years, only recently has it started to show signs of that age and wear across the country. I've taken it to almost every state in the continental US, most with some rain in the time there. It's always performed wonderfully. Back to this new one, this feels like a modern version of the precip for sure. Purchased an orange one and love the bright color. Online photos are very true to what it looks like. The liner is not what I would call "plastic bag" like at all. It's more like a soft mesh. The outer fabric is also soft, not a crunchy nylon. I have yet to give this a go in a solid rainstorm, but all the things I liked about the original precip are here, just for 2022. The 20K should be plenty for most adventures. The little fleece by the face, pockets that are great for wearing a backpack with, pitzips, and simple drawstrings, 1 for each: waist and hood. I'm a fan. Hope I can claim the same 6 months or longer from now

My favorite all around jacket!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the one I grab when I don't know what to expect! It packs up pretty small so it's easy to stuff in a bag for a just in case situation. It has served me excellently in downpours while hiking or biking on trails, kept me dry and warm enough on the ski slopes, and is perfect to keep the chill out when camping on the beach or in the mountains! The position of the pockets work great even when I have a pack on and the pit zip vents and breathable fabric make it comfortable for any level of activity. The out material is tough enough that even though I've taken it through plenty of brush and bramble and done some climbing and rubbed up against plenty of rough rocks with it and it still hasn't torn. I also love the hood configuration with the little bill that keeps the rain out of my eyes when it's really coming down. I've worn this one in all seasons and pretty much all weather imaginable and it has never let me down. I can't think of any other single jacket that is as well suited for everything that I do!

Great product | 1st time Marmot customer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am 5'9" 175 lbs w/ an athletic build and the medium fits great. I like the zippers under the armpits for breathability and the bungee feature in the hood to tighten up during downpours. I wore this in a week of rainy hikes and city adventures in Canada, kept me bone dry.

Great, light rain jacket!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking for a new, light rain jacket and finally found the perfect one. The hood fits my head perfectly, the armpit vents are functional, and I actually really like the front pockets located somewhere between the stomach and chest with the long slanted zippers.
