Heat transfer logo looks aweful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Way to cheapen the jacket. The heat transfer logo looks aweful. Really can't read it unless you're up close. Looks more like a stain. Better to drop the logo all together. Pictured old and new logo.
Great Fit
I use this jacket everyday on cold mornings for the winter and early spring. It is light enough to wear with layering garments.
Not the same.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I agree with other reviews regarding quality. I'm all about recycling and have no problem (prefer) purchasing products made with recycled materials. However if the level of quality is compromised as with this jacket (warmth level, zipper quality) then don't charge the same premium price ++ just because of brand. I don't even have a problem with the logo not being embroidered but the overall quality for price--I'm starting to wish I had returned this. Btw, bought it for daily use so I wouldn't wear out my Triclimate inner which is of better quality. I thought this would be comparable but it is not. Sorry TNF, mark missed. Sorry me, money not well spent.
Thermoball Eco - Fall 2024 - Midnight Mauve
I'm so happy I picked up this color in Midnight Mauve which as of right now is sold out in all sizes. It is such a beautiful color in this jacket. I thought it would be too dark but it is just beautiful. It's a nice mauve color, lighter than the color Black Currant from last season. If you have any pieces in that color it will match perfectly with this Midnight Mauve as it is in the same complementary color family. As usual, I sized up one size because I actually like to wear my jacket as a jacket over layers and because North Face still cuts the armpits on ladies jackets way too high and narrow. The dual bungee cords on the left and the right side are gone in this current version, so you cannot equally adjust the jacket from left to right, but there is one bungee cord on the right side of the inside of the jacket to tighten it at the hem if you need to keep cold air out or if you just want a slimmer look. On the plus side there is a zippered inside pocket on the left chest and it has a loop, you can hook your key lanyard on to it (see close up photo). This is such a great idea and I really like when jackets have this loop as nothing is worse than reaching for your keys and dropping them in snow. If they're hooked onto the loop inside your jacket, you know you can just pull your keys out without releasing it from the lanyard and you won't lose your keys in the snow or out in the wilderness. It's a little thing but it's a smart thing to put in jackets. I do miss the embroidered North Face logo. This version of theThermoball jacket has a heat transferred iron-on of TNF logo. I do miss that and I hope they bring it back as I don't know how well this decal will last. If it's a cost-saving thing, maybe North Face can just do the embroidered logo on the front of the jacket and forgo the back of the jacket. But overall, this jacket's beautiful and I'm so glad I decided to pick up this season's version.
Better logo please
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is exactly what I needed. Something lightweight but warm for rising my bike in the cold northwest winter. I have an e-bike so don't generate the heat those "real" bikers do. And don't ride when it's raining. It fits just right. Not too long but a bit longer in the back. I love the color. My only gripe is that for almost $200 they could have done a stitched logo vs the iron on cheap looking decal. Really! It looks like a smudge. When you wear NorthFace you want to broadcast it (ok maybe my ego talking-I get that). Nevertheless I got rational and chose the best of three jackets I bought and returned the other two.
I recommend this jacket to anyone.
I love this jacket. My favorite color. It fits perfect and I wear it when the weather is over 30 degrees. Where I live, 30 is warm. Beats the teens. I have received lots of feedback from people that it looks great on me. I plan to buy another color soon. If I lived near a North Face Store, I would be a frequent shopper. The workmanship that is put into the clothing they make is top of the line. My sons have Icon winter coats for years from TNF, and they still look new. I love this coat more than the P competitor jacet I own. BTW, I seldom write reviews, so that means I am completely satified with my purchase.
Now I can quit envying others' NF jackets
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this jacket specifically for an Alaskan trip I have coming this summer. I wanted something lightweight, thin enough to not be bulky looking when layering, but with color. I purchased a L and XL to try, in the blue & wine colors. I'm 5'2" and 155#, and a bit broad across the chest. The L fit perfectly, and the blue lovely. The XL was quite a bit larger so will be returned. I probably could have gone with a L 1/2, but this isn't shoes! I've still tried on every layer I will wear and the L will be just fine. Quality is top-notch, and I've since purchased a NF waterproof matching shell!
Unbelievably warm for how light it is!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yes, it's expensive but it's totally worth it! If you're on the fence about it, just get it. It's sooo lightweight and shockingly warm. The color is rich and beautiful. My hands stay very warm in the pockets, which says a lot because I do tend to have very cold hands. The only bummer is that I wanted to replace the inner jacket of my ThermoBall Snow Triclimate 3-in-1 Parka (2015 version) and the zippers on this jacket and the original are totally different, so I can't zip this into the outer shell. But that's nothing against the current model so did not knock it down a star. Love this jacket!
Incredible.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are almost no words to describe my love for this jacket. Just kidding... here they are: Amazing. Incredible. Stunning. Fits like a glove. Second skin. I could live in this jacket. I was searching for the perfect thermoball jacket and from the minute I put this jacket on, I knew. It was love at first sight. 10 out of 10 recommend.
Love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is awesome! It'll be perfect for CA semi-cool temps but also warm enough to take home to IL in the winter. The fit is attractive and doesn't create bulk even though there's plenty of room to wear over a sweatshirt or a sweater in the size small I bought.
