These pants are a heavy weight material that I think will last a long time. They shield from the wind and if I overheat the thigh leg vents work very well. Rather surprisingly the zippers for the vents extend all the way to the cuff (or all the way from the cuff to the top of the vent) but only extend the underlining material; presumably to fit over boots. They feel comfortable in the 30’s and 40’s (F) without tights. I also own a pair of similar pants from Mammut that are lined with the same vents that work better in cooler temperatures.
