Great jacket

Purchased in store, men’s large. I’m 5’9” 210 Pounds. The large fits me great. It’s got a much tougher face fabric than my old Atom AR. The large fits like a L~XL. The xl was very big in the shoulders. Very warm, hood is a bit large but decent. Over all I like it. If you had a large atom heavyweight or atom before try a medium.

Go to Alaska winter jacket.

I live in Alaska and this has been my go to jacket for years. It’s warm, breathable and handles almost any thing the cold north has thrown at it. I consider it a piece of my must have gear for this area. Love it, and it looks awesome too!

too big of a gap between medium and large now

Noticed this on a few products - both Atoms, and the gamma hoody i just bought too - too big of a jump between medium and large. Judging by the rest of my Arc gear the L got bigger, esp in torso.

A great jacket

gamma jacket. The fabric is technologically advanced and the cutting is excellent. When encountering windy or cold weather outdoors, wearing it can help maintain body temperature.

The new Atom SV is a Winner!

I really like the new Atom SV. I grabbed the black, which sold out very quickly. I bought the original Atom SV 13 years ago and gave it away to a guy on the street who needed it more than myself. I always missed that jacket. I then bought the Atom AR, now here we are full circle it seems back to the SV. This new, revised SV has a fit just as the Thorium has. Which is a looser, more relaxed fit over the previous AR. The length on the arms and down the back are just perfect. I really like the hood fit and the bit of internal stiffness and structure around the brim. Fleece backing in the pockets is just great, but there is one big miss on this jacket. We should have dump pockets, especially for a sever weather version of the Atom! Big miss Arc'teryx! This new SV is EXTREMELY WARM and oh so comfortable to wear. I can tell you that this SV does breathe better that the older AR. I'm happy that this version has Coreloft 120 throughout the entire jacket, just like the original SV. As far as fit, the previous AR had a bit of the 'Michelin Man' fit and feel going on , which really limited mobility, but not so here with the new SV, great mobility here with the new SV. The outer fabric has a great feel in hand and instills confidence that it should hold up to wear just fine, but time will tell. Other than the lack of dump pockets, I really like everything else going on here with the new Atom SV, highly recommended.
