Ocean plastic to use!
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. Love the color and the fact the bottle is made from recycled ocean plastic. I initially did not notice the two openings and at first tried to put ice in the small opening so having that second one was a delight and makes it easier to clean the bottle. This bottle has a silicon straw which I prefer over a plastic one. Haven't used the app but did notice the top can be interchanged with other lids. Felt like it kept the contents inside cold a for a long time.
Great bottle at the office and on trail!
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I really like this little bottle because of how flexible and modular it is. It's a wide-mouth, narrow-mouth, and straw bottle all in one - and it's easy to clean. Feel free to assemble it with or without the internal straw according to your preference (I like the straw), or if you're really thirsty just unscrew the top cap to chug water or sip your coffee. If you prefer the hot steam in your face as you drink, unscrew the neck too for a wide-mouth experience. I used this bottle for a couple of weeks with hot and cold drinks in all of these configurations and liked them all. I like how it's rugged enough for the trail (clipped it to my day pack for a couple of hikes) AND sleek enough for the office. Because of that, I got a lot of use out of the bottle! You can even remove the silicone carabiner leash if you don't like it. The bottle reliably kept my coffee hot and my water cold for hours, and I liked that I don't have to worry about denting the bottom (like all my other metal cups and bottles) since it has a plastic disk on the base. It fit into the cupholder in my car just fine. I also love that the plastic parts are recycled from ocean plastic! This is just a cool, functional, all-around insulated bottle!
Awesome scan feature
Very durable, and sturdy bottle. Super unique that you can scan your waterbottle through your phone on the app, and it takes 5 plastic bottles out of the ocean. Easy to clean out straw. Also the carry loop is super strong and removable which is good. Good for a carry on bottle.
Eco-friendly but not that great
The Ocean Bottle GO Sports Vacuum Bottle has some good qualities, but it didn’t quite work for me. First, I appreciate that it’s made from recycled materials. It’s great to see a company focusing on sustainability. The bottle is also leak-proof, which is a big plus. I carried it in my bag, and it stayed secure without any spills. The handle is nice and comfortable to hold. I don't have to worry about it bending my finger backwards like my normal bottle with a hard handle. However, there are a few issues that made it hard for me to enjoy using this bottle. The drinking hole is too small, which makes it annoying to drink from. I found myself having to suck harder than I’d like to get water out. There’s also a noticeable plastic taste, especially when water sits in the bottle for a while. Even after washing it, the taste didn’t fully go away. It's strange because most of the inside of the bottle is metal, so I guess the taste comes from the straw? The size is another drawback. At 17 fl. oz., it’s smaller than my usual bottle, and I found myself refilling it more often than I’d like. It's good that it fits in my car cup holder, but it could be a bit wider and still fit, with more water. Overall, I like the eco-friendly aspect, but the small drinking hole, plastic taste, and small size make it less practical for everyday use. I will stick with my existing water bottles and not use this one.
Great Purpose, Some Drawbracks
The water bottle holds water and does not leak, which is a great start. I also really like the eco-friendliness of this water bottle a lot, especially now. I recommend it overall, however, the texture of the body of the water bottle has a really strange feel. Also, the water does not stay cold for any longer than any other water bottle that advertises keeping hot drinks hot or cold drinks cold. I put the water bottle in a car in the shade on a 60-degree day with several ice cubes in it before a two-hour concert and when I came out, there were no ice cubes left. There isn't really any reusable water bottle out there with these specs, and the drawbacks can be improved on over time, so ultimately I say get this.
Adaptable, safe & environment friendly
This botyle has a wide opening for ice, a narrow opening for adding liquid AND a one-hand opening straw -- safer for drinking & driving! Plus, it's made of recycled wasted plastic, helping the environment. I love the bright coral color which won't get lost in a big bag. It also appears to be at least spill-resistant (if not spill-proof)! Hot liquids & carbonated beverages are not recommended.
Not a fan
I bought this 16 oz water bottle as it was a smaller profile and could fit in a sling pack. It has 2 different pcs that screw together at the top and it is very easy to cross thread the top pc which causes it to leak. Also the whole top part of the bottle (from just above the logo) sweats as it is metal. Very expensive and would not buy again
Great for travel
I bought two of these for my husband and I on travel. I found these the perfect size for my backpack. We had no issues with the straws, taste, mouth opening like another reviewer had. These were perfect and it's great to know that the company is socially conscious.
