Great breathable, lightweight pants!

Amazing pants. Have worn these on the John Muir Trail the last two years. Great slightly baggy fit that breath really well and don’t bind on the knees when having to step up large rocks. Highly recommend after having worn for multiple trips and after having tried many other brands, these pants are my go to. Also wearing the Trail Sender shirt after being so happy with these. I'm normally a size 32 (male, 6’2”, 192lbs) wear a 34 to allow for a little extra room in the thigh. Easy to adjust with the built in belt/tie.

Lightweight Cool Pants

If you're looking for a pant that's lightweight and simple for the Spring, Summer and early Fall, buy these pants. They fit well, slip on fast and keep me cool in warm weather. I use them for canoe camping in the Adirondacks, hiking in the Catskill Mountains and for field work. The fabric material is thick enough to fend off brambles and nettles and two front pockets hold plenty. Very simple design with a sturdy waist snap and an internal draw cord to sinch up the waist. No need for a belt!

Longer inseams please!

Mountain Hardwear please make the trail sender pant available in a longer inseam! I love these pants but have since grown, and would love to buy them again. I have the ap pants which are available in a 34" inseam and they fit great, I would love to see the trail senders have the same sizing option to be inclusive of us taller hikers!

Utility Questionable

No belt loops. Pockets small. I don’t see the value in these expensive ultra lightweight pants.

Very Comfy, Lightweight, Good Mobility and Color

The moon blue colorway is wonderful. It complements everything. Quality is great. Knee articulation could be just a hair better, but its an otherwise very lightweight and comfortable pair of pants. I climbed, hiked, and traveled in these recently in Hawaii and they've been great.

Great 2024 improvements

Great improvements from last year. I liked the trail sender shorts from last year and these improve on the previous version in several ways. First, the best thing about the previous version is the ultra lightweight ripstop fabric and how well it performs in hot weather - the only comparable pants I’ve found in weight are the Patagonia Terrebonne joggers, and these are somehow feel even cooler in hot (90+ F) humid weather. The new 2024 version feels like it has the same fit, but improves on some annoyances from last year: 1. The waistband is slightly elastic, which is more comfortable from previous near 0 stretch 2. The pockets are deeper and the zip pocket has been moved from the front thigh to the side hip. This is a big improvement where your phone no longer barely fits in the pocket or runs up against your hipbone when sitting 3. The construction feels higher quality and more premium. Too early to tell on how durability will compare but definitely feels like it’ll perform better Very happy with all the changes made!

Get Yourself a Pair

Great lightweight pants for staying cool and covered. Love hiking and rock climbing in these. Really loved my pair from last year so bought these and they actually improved the design with better waist snap and thicker waist drawstring.

Super light weight, like silk pajamas.

Super light weight, like silk pajamas. Would be great for summer time. Size 44x30 was loose and comfy. Stitching in the butt already coming apart after three uses and washed gently. Hopefully my dark grey pair will hold up better.

Super comfortable

I appreciate how lightweight these are. I needed pants that aren’t ankle skinny at the bottom. They come with a drawstring so you can tighten them. The material is light and breathable but also had good protection from UV.

Good for minimalist person, summer hikes

Very light weight and perfect for warmer weather. No belt loops, but has an internal drawstring, which makes having things in pockets like a phone and keys an issue. Otherwise pretty solid.
