I love these boots. Since finding these boots, I dont wear sneakers anymore. I bought them for the Appalachian Trail section hike. I wore them to work to tread them in. They were so comfortable from that day forward! I wore them to work for about a month before doing my hike.of.approx 100 miles on the AT. They didn't let me down, the traction up the mountains and down was fantastic. The fit was great, not a blister one! Since I've been home, I continue to wear them to work and hike in them on the weekends. For my job, I am on my feet all day averaging about 15,000 steps. I wore these boots in Colorado a few weeks ago and hiked in the snow, feet stayed dry and warm.....I love these boots, ordering more! Did I mention that I'm a 63 year old woman.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Last year I bought these boots because I was starting a job as an outdoor educator in the fall. The size 10 fit great and were super comfortable considering I wore them every day for work. Unfortunately, by the spring they started splitting around the toe seam where the leather meets the sole, letting water leak in. I'm a bit disappointed that they only lasted a year, but I have to wonder if I just need to order the wide variation. I also plan on getting a pair with a fabric exterior rather than the leather in case that was the reason for the splitting.
I bought these circa 2016 and they’ve been my go-to boots ever since. Wore ‘em every hike, walk, trip, vacation, and often just running errands. After the break-in period they were perfect. I love the height that gives some additional ankle support, as my ankles are prone to rolling. My trip to Death Valley (2022) was the beginning of their end, after I walked the salt flats and did not wash the salt residue off quickly enough. From there they did begin to crack. They still held out long enough after that for me to have to replace the laces before the boots! End of 2024, my pair are finally retired. Can’t recommend them highly enough.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I first bought this boot in brown about 6 years ago and still wear them. Since then I've bought two more pairs (gray and black). All three pairs are still going strong! They're comfortable, like a gym shoe, and definitely waterproof. I walk my dog everyday through Chicago winter snow, ice and rain. My feet are the only thing dry! After my second purchased pair, 3 of my friends bought the same boot and love them just as much. I hope these never go away.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay, I just got off of the Funeral Canyon trail in Death Valley. It's 40 degrees with gulley-washing rains the last two days, and feet of snow above 4K elevation. I went squelching through the trail in these, for absolute hours! Not a single drop of water inside, and my socks were still toasty warm when I got back to the campsite. 11/10, would reccomended always. Additionally, kept my feet toasty warm in the record-breaking chilly weather!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had these boots for almost a year now… and they have worn down so much that I’m getting blisters on my ankles and it hurts to walk in them. They were great for the time they held up but not even a year and I need a replacement? I’m getting cracks in the shoe and the part around the ankle sags and doesn’t truly fit around my foot anymore

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these for year-round trail hiking with my dog. I've used them a couple of times so far. They are light, comfortable, and stayed dry through puddles and small creeks. Love the price too!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do not like this hiking shoe. Merrells were much better. This shoe was hard and painful to break in. After broke in they are still not comfortable. Not great for long hikes or all day wear. They do keep your feet dry but also very cold during winter hikes, even with a couple pairs of socks. They do last awhile. I have had mine for years and haven't had to replace them yet. I might anyway, just because I would like something more comfortable. If your shopping for a hiking shoe, I would pick something else. There are way more comfortable hiking shoes out there.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a last minute mix up with another pair of boots and ended up wearing these on a recent backpacking trip. They were extremely uncomfortable! I had so many blisters on every single inch of my feet (all around my heels, toes on both sides of my feet, etc) by the second day out that I could barely continue the trip. While some blisters were to be expected, this was over the top! The shoes also gave me blisters on the tops of my big toes because of the way the fabric folds inward to press on your toes with each step! Poor design in my opinion. I love wearing Columbia's clothes but would definitely recommend buying better quality shoes.
I'm normally in between an 8 & 8.5, so I got size 8.5 and they were perfect, I could also wear two pears of thick socks and still be comfortable. I used these boots for the first time hiking up a mountain. I realized that probably wasn't the best decision because the boots had yet to be broken in, but I had no problems whatsoever. They kept my feet warm in 21° weather (& that's hard to do with my feet), kept them cool while I was hiking, and kept them dry in snow. To sum it up, I was in awe of how perfect these boots were and couldn't believe how good my feet felt after hiking, despite hiking at a constant incline for 8 hours straight.
