Cute, compact cooler that does what it should
I have the blue and green patterned cooler. It is a pretty pattern. The size is not too big. It can fit a 6 pack plus a few more cans with ice. It does not leak. I also used this to keep my pastries and desserts cold during transport. This is also a great bag to keep snacks for travelling. I recently brought this cooler on a a plane for a road trip. It fits under the seat in front of me on the plane. It isn't bulky. It fits nicely on the floor in the back seat of the car. I appreciate that it can fold flat for storage and flat to fit nicely in my carry-on suitcase for my return trip. I took away a star for 2 reasons, 1) The eye loop and toggle sometimes comes undone. You can see it in one of the pics I included 2) Though it's nice that it has loops to add straps so you can carry it over your shoulders, it doesn't actually come with a strap. Though I can definitely buy a strap, it would have been nice if it was included. But overall a great cooler when you need to keep something cold.
Perfect Cooler for Day Trips & Overnights!
The Campwell 8L Folding Cooler has completely transformed how I do outdoor outings! I honestly can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking to keep things simple, organized, and cool on the go. I’m really looking forward to bringing it to the beach and on all my summer adventures!
Great Small Cooler
This cooler was easy to fold down, keeps drinks cool, and was easy to carry with me. When I received it it was flat so you do have to fold down the sides and attach them. This makes it into a rectangular shaped cooler. It fit plenty of cans and some ice packs and was easy to carry on my arm/shoulder from the car. I brought it with me to spend a day at a convention to keep our water's cold. It did its job! The handles are sturdy and the material of the outside of the cooler seems like it will hold up really well. I think this is really great for small outings when I don't want to lug my big rolling cooler around with me.
Nice cooler for a family day trip
This is a great little cooler! It’s just the right size for a day trip, durably made, and has a few unique features that make it a solid choice for anyone looking for a soft cooler. We used it on several weekend trips to local parks for family walks with our toddler. We used the cooler each time to hold lunches, drinks, and plenty of toddler snacks, and it fits perfectly under our jogging stroller. We have coolers of other sizes at home but we’d been looking for one in this in-between size that’s not too large or too small to be useful for just this kind of use. It held what we needed without being stuffed, and kept things cold well enough. We weren’t able to test it on any particularly hot days because it's currently spring in Boston, but it feels on par with what I would expect from a high quality soft-sided cooler. The materials are what I expect from REI: durable fabric on the outside with good carrying straps. The inside lining feels thick and high quality, which is somewhere a lot of other soft-sided coolers compromise with cheap linings. There’s one outside pocket that's perfect for a few napkins and utensils. The mechanism for folding up the bottom corners is a little funny and seems unnecessarily complicated. However, after trying to store the cooler in our small home, I appreciated that I could undo the latches and more easily slip the flattened cooler into a cabinet. Overall, this is a nice product that I’d totally recommend.
Versatile and compact cooler
I received this products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. Campwell 8L cooler has a unique design that goes from flat (for storage or packing for travel) to a soft rectangular container. Its capacity is ideal for canned drinks, snacks, or lunch along with a quart ice bag or cool pack. It keeps items cool for a least a day. Ideal for school or work lunches, picnics, and day trips. It’s unique design transforms into a rectangular compartment by joining the top and bottom ends to a center connector on each side. It is made of a durable outside canvas like material, strong zippers, flexible handles, with an insulated waterproof inner layer. The cooler is a good value when you want something simple, light and easy to carry for the day.
Exactly as advertised
This cooler bag is fantastic for what it is! It won't hold good at temp for a family camping weekend, but for a meal or a day, this is absolutely perfect. The insulation works to keep items cold (I didn't attempt to keep anything warm), and the toggles allow you to change the shape of the bag as needed. I found that it worked next for my purposes if I used the toggles to flatten the bottom but left the top as is. My favorite part of this bag is that it stored flat, so it's completely out of the way when not in use. The color I received was mostly beige, and that will show dirt easily, but it's not a big deal to me so that doesn't impact my rating. If that's a concern for you just choose a deeper color of course.
Nutrition bag!
Race day fuel? All in the bag! In preparation for my 34 mile cross country mountain biking race- fueling is key (as with any sport!) All of my nutrition fit in nicely- including two full sized bottles, snacks and gels. As it still is early in the year, I’ve yet to test the insulation capabilities of this cooler, however I was very happy with the amount of things I was able to fit in all in one place.
Perfect Size to Hold a Small Bear Vault in Kayak
I needed a flexible cooler for overnight kayak camping that was big enough to hold a food-packed bear vault for critter control, but small enough to fit in my kayak bulkhead. Used 6 ice cubes in a ziploc-style freezer bag inside the bear vault and a small commercial cold block inside the bag. Kept perishables cold for 1.5 days. (I pre-chilled the bear vault and the cooler inside the fridge for several hours before leaving.) With the corners folded and buttoned down, the nice cube-shaped cooler stowed perfectly in the kayak bulkhead behind my seat. Almost no wasted space between the bear vault and the inside of the cooler; my 3/4" thick cold block just allowed the zipper to close. This will be perfect for exploring the Cascadia Marine Trail.
Versatile & Easy
What a great find. Looks like a box in the picture, but empty it lays flat. This cooler will go in our suitcase on every trip from now on.
