Great car camping tent

I got this tent for car camping and I am very happy with it. It's a nice color, easy to set up and very spacious. I really like the blackout fabric for the morning but it is worth mentioning that it makes the tent almost uncomfortably dark at night. I personally don't mind the darkness at night but some people might not like it. Overall it's a great tent for casual camping situations.

Roomy, nice tent!

I'm a beginner camper so I picked this based on price & reviews, I think its great! I use it solo and its very easy for me to set up alone and its HUGE inside. One feature that drew me to it was rhe black out feature and it's really nice and dark inside even during the day! The only thing I'd share is that the mesh goes down pretty far, camping in Washington in May and June, it was a little chilly, I bet it will be great in the hotter months. 2+ people could comfortably fit, 1 is like a luxury yurt lol!

A GREAT value.

Nothing's perfect, which is why I give 4 stars. I got this on sale for $130 but, at $200 it would still be a really good value...maybe not quite as good as at $130, but still good. If you want all the bells and whistles, you'll have to spend a lot more. It's easy to set up and take down. I'm 5'10" and I can easily pitch it myself in < 10 min. The 'quick corners' are brilliant. Everything feels substantial. Set up, everything felt taut and buttoned down. Some folks might balk at the weight but it's not a backpacking tent. I could very easily see carrying it if you're hiking to 'a campsite' where you plan to set up and stay for a while...just a really nice camping tent. There's one door, but it's big and you shouldn't have any problems getting in or out. The zippers are smooth. They will snag if you just grab and yank 'em, but you're not going to do that in any tent, right?? Inside, with the rain fly closed up, it's quite dark during the day - you'll need a light if you want to do anything in there. Really, though, you're only going to be operating in this mode if it's raining and you don't have a shelter fly for hanging out during the day.. Put a small light with a translucent lens in the "gear loft" and you'll have a nice diffuse soft overhead light, but you're still going to want ventilation. The back wall side of the rain fly has a vertical zipper which works similarly to the flaps that make up the vestibule but it doesn't enclose as much space. Since this is a dome style tent, with those sets of flaps open, rain will come in because of the geometry. If you're crafty, you can easily McGyver something to counteract this. In good weather, fly on, vestibule and opposite wall open, there's plenty of light and air. In 'under the stars mode it's not a stargazer's dream but it's good. The small vent is pretty much useless. The rain fly is nicely waterproofed and big enough where there aren't drips coming in between the edge of the fly and the tub style floor. I've used it in the rain and stayed nicely dry. It's advertised as a 4 person tent. I think it's an awesome 2 person tent with the capacity for one more if necessary. I'm using it solo, primarily for camping at craft/music festivals so it's as good as it gets space-wise. This tent will definitely see some use in the woods for recreational camping as well. You can always upgrade the poles, stakes, and footprint as you see fit. I found everything adequate although this tent comes without a footprint. I cut a piece of drop cloth plastic to fit...worked great. At this price point, I didn't see any other tents that approach this one. Any of the small downers can easily be adjusted to by working through. I'd recommend it.

so far, so good…

Just set it up myself in ~10 min for the first time. Pitched it in my yard because I wanted to test it and try camping in it, with my cat, to get used to outdoor adventures. Very roomy! Very dark. Let’s see how it holds up in the wild. So far, very happy with my purchase.

Loved this tent

Not only did this tent stay dark and cool but at night I was really warm while my friends were freezing in theirs. Quality tent. Easy to set up and take down. Best tent I’ve ever owned.

perfect for a family

This tent was perfect for my family of 4. We comfortably fit two large adults and two littles in here with room for growing. The tent was easy to put up and then to pack away.

Great Tent & Great Darkness

Living in Alaska where blackout in the Summer is a necessity, this tent gets the job done. Took it out for my first trip a couple weeks back and my wife and I loved the space and darkness this tent provides. We had plenty of space for a queen size mattress and room for our medium dog.

Room for improvement

Only one 3 night trip to the BWCA and both fiberglass poles have a crack at the end of the 4th pole. I was thinking of upgrading to aluminum anyway. For the money the tent is a nice value but would prefer it came with aluminum poles to start.
