Really? Permethrin 💀
Y’ALL. I have always loved my buff headbands, and I just casually grabbed two more yesterday. Took the tags off and the “insect shield” caught my eye… you have to flip the tag over and read the fine print to find out these are treated with PERMETHRIN! This is a known neurotoxin. The chemical’s fact sheet advises you to minimize exposure. The US EPA says it’s carcinogenic if ingested… FYI, your skin is the largest organ in your body and whatever you put on it, is absorbed. Very disappointed to realize REI sold this product. Don’t let the marketing fool you into wearing permethrin on your head -most likely while working up a sweat and opening your pores 🙄
Fun Headband
Love these half buffs. I wear mine as a headband that can also cover my ears. Perfect on a cool day or even sunny days.
